Awful whingers up there in Clare, the players play, the manager manages, no to player power etc etc…

Ha. It sounds like more of an ego issue than a player power issue sadly. More negativity for what already is a bit of a negative vibe in the clare set-up at the moment. And it all looked so promising after the glorius waterford crystal triumph…

This isn’t the first time Gerry Quinn has walked off the Clare panel…Third time by my count

Good riddance to him I say puke. No room for ā€˜superstars’ in a team that hasn’t won anything. I was fed up of his laziness anyway. He couldn’t be arsed marking Timmy McCarthy after his first half performance against Cork last year and McCarthy turned the game for Cork. The Tipp league game took the biscuit though. Would love to see him play like he did in '02 semi-final/final but there’s no hunger for hard work there by the looks of things. A shame but there you go.

What did you think of the match Puke?

Listened to most of it on the radio, saw the last 20 minutes on the tele…Clare had it won but completely eased off…Gifted Cork two goals and they kicked on…Phillip Brennan’s confidence is in pieces, the first goal was bread and butter stuff, can’t say I ever remember davy fitz letting one in like that(apart from the 95 final) and he was only half the size of Brennan…Enda Barrett was shocking when he came on and far too many elimentary mistakes were made by the team…

Thught teh ref was shocking by the sounds of it, far too whistle happy

The knives will be out for mac after today I have the feeling…

In fairness puke it was a bad blow for Clare hurling, league or no league. That Cork could come back in their first game and beat us in Cusack Park like that is disgusting. I don’t how this isn’t going be a heavy blow to morale in the squad. Of course it only takes a win to turn it around but they really don’t look like getting it. Brennan unfortunate today to an extent but Patrick Kelly due a run at this stage.

Anyone know if Aisake came on today for the footballers?

Win on the double at the weekend for Leix, footballer handing Fermanagh their arses via MJ Tierney, Ger Reddin and Donal Kingston by all accounts. Hurlers won in Kerry but a huge blow taken with Zane Keenan suffering a broken leg.

that was an awful hiding tipp got off KK.

all in all a poor enough weekend for that great Irish Gael Tipptops*.

Ireland Grandslam winners.
Tipp annihilated by KK.
Man Utd annihilated by Fulham.

the only saving grace for the chap was a win for England in the Calcutta Cup.

You beat me to it, I was just about to sympatise with TT :stuck_out_tongue:

Kilkenny are going to make a joke of the 2009 championship in a similar way to 08 by hammering everyone in sight ill predict,i was at the game Yesterday, what a joke is all you could say about it.If Tipp brought the minors they wouldnt have been 20 points down at half time, considering that Kilkenny were missing Noel Hickey,JJ Delaney,Derek Lyng,Eoin Larkin,Henry Shefflin and Eoin Larkin its looking like nobodys going to be able to keep it under double figures for the Championship,we should be allowed put a 2nd team in Munster this Year to see how they’d get on.

Definate reality check for Tipp, beaten in every position, quite worrying how tamely they surrendered, poor touch, poor striking, full-back line must have felt like the alamo in the first half, no cover provided by Centre-Field or Half Back line, Half Forwards blown away, again. KK very impressive, they were never going to let Tipp beat them in Nowlan Park for the third year running.

I don’t think yesterdays result will do Tipp any harm at all. It would be an awful lot tougher for Sheedy push them to another level over the next two months had they beaten Kilkenny yesterday. This is all the motivation he’s going to need.

Would you say he’s gone for good so defo??
Really admired him as a player.

The story will come out this week I imagine, well a couple of versions of it anyway, so we’ll have a better idea of how bad the row was. The fact that Conor Plunkett has been dropped as well might leave Mike Mac with no choice but to seek reconciliation closer to championship (if results get even worse) as we have no experienced centre back but it’s hard to know really. As Puke pointed out it’s not the first time this has happened so maybe he’s the kind of example they’ll be better off without.

Would have a lot of time for Gerry myself, real ballsy player who can mix it withy the best of them but he is a lzy enough fucker when it comes to training…Mac dropped him last year and he only got his place for the munster final due to Bugler being suspended…Never really thought he was a centre back either, much more suited to the wing…

If his attitude isn’t right then he is no loss…although with Quinn, Donal O Donovan and Plunkett all gone from the panel our options at six are fairly limited…

Tipp team v Dublin

Brendan Cummins (Ballybacon-Grange)
Conor O’Brien (ire g, Annacarty)
Declan Fanning (Killenaule)
Paul Curran (Mullinahone)
Brendan Maher (Borris-Ileigh)
Conor O’Mahony (Newport) Captain
Shane Maher (Burgess)
Thomas Stapleton (Templederry Kenyons)
Shane McGrath (Ballinahinch)
Seamus Hennessy (Kilruane MacDonaghs)
Seamus Callanan (Drom & Inch)
James Woodlock (Drom & Inch)
Noel McGrath (Loughmore-Castleiney)
Micheal Webster (Loughmore-Castleiney)
John O’Brien (Toomevara)

That Tipp team looks strong i’d be tempted to back them (-4) to beat the Dubs. They’ll be stung by what happened last week and they should have way too much. Also, Galway could be a good bet at 11/10 to beat Waterford?

Noticed they left out Benny Dunne and Fitzgerald from the half back line who IMO are far too loose…Looks a decent enought team but still could struggle to put up a big score…Webtser is big and awkward but has no real scoring threat, O Brien is too hot and cold. Hennessy and McGrath are fairly unproven while Woodlock is middling enough, they should have enough to beat the Dubs but they won’t blow them away
