Was thinking the same time, didnât think Lynch even represented his county underage? Really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Marked Mannix at Dean Ryan, fucker destroyed me.
I played against the older brother, at the aforementioned club game and in colleges.
He was an ox. I think Adrian was much the same as a young fella. Both outstanding underage stars, but with Luke his size was his biggest asset, wasnât quite up to Senior IC. Won an Intermediate iâd say though, with the mentioned Johnny Kene on the other thread.
Indeed Bandage, i wasnât putting that in for your knowledge, i know you would know that. There are a few who wouldnât have a clue what i was on about.
They won the county in 1996. Excellent team, they had Newtownshandrum at the time as they were still Intermediate that year. The Oâ Connor twins were 17. Newtown won the Intermediate that year as well.
I played my best ever hurling match against Kilworth, Minor A county semi final up in Rathcormack. I was usually wing back, but our keeper was sick, so i went in goal. We won something like 5-14 to 4-15. Even though i left in 4 i still think that was my best ever game. Good folk in Kilworth. For my club and Kilworth to be even playing hurling was an achievement, not to mind making the County.
Galway v Kilkenny on Sunday should be a cracker. Galways full back line McLearn, Kavanagh and OâDonoghue sure to be up against it. Kilkenny will want Galway to know whoâs boss after they put it up to them in Walsh final last week. Be interesting to see the squad depth with so many players injured or out with Ballyhale and Portumna. Should be a good crowd in Salthill. Cant wait. Galway to edge it.
Galway, NHL v Kilkenny: C Callanan; S Kavanagh, D McClearn, Ciarian O Donovan; Martin Ryan, Ger Mahon, Adrian Cullinane; Fergal Healy, Kevin Hayes; Richie Murray, Cyril Donnellan, David Tierney; Ger Farragher, Niall Healy, Aongus Callanan.

are u refering to luke mannix?? no relation to adrian mannix. luke played with fermoy. noe playing in london. excellent underage hurler with colmans and ucc.
Totally mixed up actually. I was refering to Luke Twomey i think? Definitely a Kilworth hurler who played for Colmans. Luke Mannix is as you say from Fermoy. They probably played on the same Colmans team.
Luke something anyway.
ur referring to will twomey. plays centre back with kilworth. would have played on same colmans team as luke mannix. will has indeed won u21 (sub) and intermediates with cork
Good game today, wrote about it in the Clare thread, but forgot to mention that Cathal McAllister was excellent as ref today, let the game flow, no yellow cards and thanks to him doing this the second half especially was played at a very high paceâŚ
Looks like these yellow card rules could be working, ery little stupid/cynical fouling today

He is a super ref. Played football championship with him last year. We said at half time that this guy is going to let everything go (within reason). He believes one of the reasons Cork have been blown away sometimes by Kerry because they lack the physical game for them. Part of that comes from poor refereeing in Cork where every fucking thing gets pulled and common sense was rarely used.
He takes no shit either.
