I played against the older brother, at the aforementioned club game and in colleges.
He was an ox. I think Adrian was much the same as a young fella. Both outstanding underage stars, but with Luke his size was his biggest asset, wasn’t quite up to Senior IC. Won an Intermediate i’d say though, with the mentioned Johnny Kene on the other thread.
was Luke Mannix not from Fermoy? Does the brother play with Kilworth?

We got to the end of it.

ya copped the later posts after I made the comment

Sounds like Limerick roasted Clare in the 1st half. Good start for them. Clare came back well but could never get on level terms. Very early days but suprised by the depth Limerick have. Lot of new faces out there to-day.
By all accounts Cork got a good reception by the supporters who bothered to show up today. Cant see GerMac hanging in there for much longer though as severe beatings are sure to start coming thick and fast once they start playing the better hurling teams.
This likely to be as good as it gets for Dublin in league one this year. Then again with Liam Rush on fire today perhaps they’ve unearthed a new star to propel them to better things this year.
Waterford/Tipp didn’t sound like much of a match with Tipp winning handily enough. Game probably not helped by reported puddles in various parts of the pitch. Maybe shouldn’t have been played?

I wouldn’t say roasted, Clare were probably the better team in the first 25 minutes, despite playing against the breeze they led by a point, tony griffin was cleaning up centre forward, had 3 points, limerick switched hickey in centre back and they managed to get on top and hit 3 goals before half time, limerick were hanging on at the end despite being 11 points up early in the second half

10 points up at HT. I would call that a roasting in fairness Puke. Credit to Clare though. Fought back well. Sounded like a great match

Just watching Sunday Sport - it was a dry day in Waterford but there was still surface water on the pitch. Eh, groundsman - hello? No wonder players kick up a fuss about the way they’re treated at times. As an aside, surely the game to show live today was Cork-Dublin - the fact the development type team were playing was more reason to show it, not less, in my opinion. Waterford-Tipp was going to be your average start of the season league game but all the intrigue was in Cork.

The pitch looks in an awful way alright…A few big puddles of water on it…

Wasn’t a roasting at all. Completely stupid penalty was stuck well by Shaughnessy and an even more stupid fuck-up by Brennan gifted Limerick another goal. Very even game overall. Worrying, since Limerick had a team of young lads out.

Do you Tipp will cover 16 points? Hard to know.
Will the Tipp lads revel in the chance to put up a cricket score on the decimated rivals.

I can’t see Kilkenny covering 6 points against Limerick. We tend to stumble our way through early rounds of the league.

Strangest Wexford team I’ve seen in a while.

quiet strange the only 2 lines that arent strange are the full back adn full forward lines really…

idea of colfer at centre back amazes me … but does he play there for clongeen??
i dunno if fogarty is strong enough to play adn think id ratehr see kinsella in midfield

It’s not nearly as strange as the defensive selection from the Armagh match!

CLG, Colfer plays at centre back quite often for Clongeen. We’ll probably have a load of positional changes before throw-in anyway.

Galway -4 is tempting even without the Portumna lads

Thought the same. Maybe even a shock.

Galway (NHL v Dublin) - Colm Callanan, Shane Kavanagh, Damien McClearn, Fergal Moore, Martin Ryan, Ger Mahon, Adrian Cullinane, Fergal Healy, Kevin Hayes, Richie Murray, Cyril Donnellan, David Tierney, Ger Farragher, Niall Healy, Aongus Callana

Joey Boland and David O Callaghan both out for the Dubs apparently.

John Conlon not playin for NUIG during the week puke?

Bit off the track here now, but do you remember a Padraig Walsh that played for Galway, played for Sligo IT as well. Played midfield, what happened to him, i’m kinda presuming your from galway here.

Living in Galway but not a native. I think I know the lad you mean, a victim of the Loughnane era as far as I know. Never featured under Ger at all.
