I just said it to my wan there. She informed me we’re going to a 21st that night
A quick word with your local politician and he’ll have you a postal vote in a jiffy.
We’re in Center Parcs that weekend - I’ll just vote for Robert Troy while down there. He seems solid.
The Saturday in front of the tv from lunchtime is the real craic. Tallies coming in from far flung corners of Clare and talking heads going 90. Couple of cans - great sport
I’ve said it before but I think it’s the only day in the 5-year cycle when politicians sometimes go off script & you see candid reflections & admissions from them regarding the campaign, their record, what did & didn’t resonate with voters & why. I guess the timing immediately post voting & the long programme format lends itself to it. You even get some camaraderie & gentle banter between rival factions - it’s like a post battle code of honour. They’ve been strictly sticking to the party message up to polling day & they’re back spouting that again by the start of the following week once the strategists & handlers have absorbed the result.
And the Kerry county results being held up cos the Healy Raes are gone off to 3 different funerals
It never gets better than Eileen Magner calling them in from Donegal North West and Sligo-Leitrim
I somehow doubt Grainne Seoige will be one of the Fianna Failers who get in, or maybe this is what people actually do want?
As in: what a snowflake, can’t he take a joke, “I’m thoroughly enjoying the meltdown” etc. etc.

For a deeply cycnical man, you sometimes aren’t half cynical enough.
She’ll probably top the poll
I specifically floated the possibility that I may not be cynical enough in that post.
I suppose it’s not as if there isn’t already ample evidence that voters like celebrities who insult ordinary people.
George Lee walked it with a much lower profile than Grá
She could be put in charge of sorting RTE out.
LOL
George Lee walked out of RTE thinking he was a sort of hero of the people. And for a short time he was. A very short time. That time was the crash spring of 2009.
I’m not so sure Grainne is that well liked and stories like this can have legs. Also Graham Geraghty was trounced when he stood as a candidate. That was 2007 though.
I think there’s a surprisingly wide feeling of cynicism about Grainne’s campaign, that she’s just doing it because she’s bored and wants profile again and because she’s seen a jockey and a Rose Of Tralee winner and a former Eurovision Song Contest presenter sail into the European Parliament.
However, Dev Óg is stepping down, it’ll probably be a good election for Fianna Fail and the votes have to go somewhere.
Why is Ollie Crowe not running @Diabhal @Keadyshouldhaveplayedin89 @Jimmy_Mc_Nulty ?
