Limerick City won’t be much different. Willie, O’Donnell and Quinlivan are safe as houses. Only one under pressure is Leddin and that’ll mainly be from that clown Daly.
You’d expect that Pascal will be really busy this campaign between his own patch and also the national campaign. The most senior FGer left really and the finance guy who steered us through Brexit. I’d expect FG to lean heavily on him.
A load of government TDs are doing that lately. Man who sits two seats down from the minister for health saying “someone needs to do something about health!”
Any FF or FG Ministers in danger of losing their seats?
The Greens will be decimated, hopefully. Getting jostled by a constituent on the doorstep probably explains the level of hostility O’Gorman faces, although he is getting a lot of favourable (sympathetic) media treatment from Lefty mainstream media outlets. Honestly think the damage that man has caused this country via missing children and large scale immigration won’t be visible until years down the line.
Catherine Martin seems to be plain useless and is best remembered for sacking an RTE Chairperson live on air, without actually sacking them. She’ll be under pressure too.
The Left vote has to go somewhere so I can see the Soc Dems and Labour increasing their seat count and either party replacing the Greens in government. That won’t be good for the country, though, in my opinion as both are as radical and excessively liberal as the Greens.
I can’t provide much insight on this but having trawled other fora, there appears to be ample evidence to support the view that Ollie has been bumped aside to make way for the celebrity candidate, Grainne.
I’m not sure how well known Ollie Crowe is outside the city…My guess is that FF see Seoige as Maura Geohegan Quinn 2.0 and reckon she will have a groundswell of support in her native Connemara, while still picking up a decent amount of votes in the city. Seoige will surely have a path to victory along the rust belt of the R336 out to her hometown of Spiddal and beyond, while she’ll probably do alright too along the the rush belt of the N59 out to Clifden.
Not that matters when it comes to FF candidates (au contraire etc.) but Ollie might have dirtied his bib slightly with this…
What downfall? I think their last GE figures were generally regarded by most as highly inflated- they were a protest vote largely. Knowledgeable posters like Thomas Brady even forecasted a return to the mean post 2019.
Current figures are about where they are truly at.
