In queensland , politicans that came from a successful professional life into politics were hounded for being out of touch with ordinary people

He wouldn’t if he was taken out of his little fiefdom in Kerry.

It’s amazing that in a era when all our problems are largely technological, health and climate…
We want to stay welded to a 19th century political system.

Donnelly was saying they got the waiting list down from 80 to 20 this year and the 20 have all been offered trips to New York to get surgery

There were massive delays with those surgeries long before the Temple Street issue.

Define ‘waiting list’ Stephen.

That’s good news if it’s true

Id say it probably is true as i would guess they knew its an election issue so decided to throw money at it

The impression I get is that that surgeon had a proper hit job done on him by a particular online “news” outlet run by a particular person who couldn’t organise working wi-fi, purely for the political gain of a particular party associated with the Provos.

Is this correct?

What I definitely think is true is this “news” outlet did and does not give a flying shite about scoliosis patients. In my view.

The Journal had a fact check the other day, saying the reduced waiting list numbers Harris has been quoting on the campaign trail & in his Virgin Media Big Interview are false. They’re working through them but not to the extent Si has been claiming.

Too late pal. The damage is done

Wasn’t there an issue with the surgeon using non approved springs in patients?

Hit job or not that is pretty damning.

I would safely say there are kids waiting more than 4 months for operations.

I would have thought if the option was non approved or none as is likely the case… I know which option I’d prefer…
Everyone different though

I’d like to know to know the full context. My impression which may or may not be wrong - I wouldn’t know because I don’t follow the news - is the surgeon was having to improvise because he was forced to work in sub-optimal conditions through no fault of his own.

If that impression is correct that is damning on Fine Gael but the story made the outlook for scoliosis sufferers even more damning.

Sid seeing Boogieman again?
