FG in recent years seem to make every wrong choice for the party. Varadkar or Coveney - flash or decency - the grassroots went overwhelmingly for Coveney but they installed Varadkar. Now they’ve gone for Varadkar 2.0. He’s on TikTik, he must know how to make us popular!

Point taken. I do think that’s a different thing though. Harris has not been the worst of them as a minister, that’s a success in itself.
I have 29 independents getting in ut not all are headbanger independents. 30 plus independents is well possible. I’d need to actually do some research like reading back over my list to see who is who.
My guess is there could be over 20 independents who would be McGregor or McGregor puppet nomination persuadable for a Presidential Election.
I think a big issue for Harris and these lads is they live in such a political bubble. They are automatically conditioned to see every criticism as coming from sinn fein who they see as evil murderers or other crazy leftys. They dont realise that normal people think they are useless cunts too and have very valid criticisms so immediately go on the defensive.

A far right candidate will likely have considerable success in the 2025 Presidential election. I wouldn’t even rule out that it could be McGregor, though it’s more likely to be somebody more “presentable”. Onslaughts of disinformation very quickly change things.
I could see Peadar Toibin fancying it as a “presentable” far right candidate.
You’d think that a merger could see them bring in a couple more TDs. But SDs are doing as well or better than labour and they must be looking across thinking fuck them let them merge with us if they want.

It’s not a barrier for them at all. I still don’t think he’d get in but he could easily get the same 25% that alcoholic racist lad that ran a few years ago got.
