Canididates are Labour’s problem. Howlin is retiring and Sean Sherlock isn’t standing. Aodhán is in Europe.
Duncan Smith should get in again? Nash maybe. Bacik will probably lose out. Not sure who’s there beyond that.

Labour cut the blind pension the last time they were in, plus the whole water charges debacle under Alan Kelly.
They’ve morphed into a champagne socialist party now and turned their back on their traditional working class vote, pretty much nothing differentiating them from the Greens or Soc Dems nowadays.
Duncan in a 3 seater
SD might pip him
Forgot about those boundary changes in Fingal. I hate three seat constituencies.
Aisling Morans election poster is an absolute classic of the genre. I must try get a picture. She’s gonna muddy the Laois election waters incredibly. Astute observers woulda said it was gonna be a cake walk for Fleming, Stanley and Charlie Flanagan’s replacement Willie Aird, but Stanley’s abdication from SF, allied to Charlie’s empty seat and now her stepping up will make it a very very interesting battle for a change.
Soc Dems also have a candidate problem.
Spotted that earlier. I reckon it’ll lose her more votes than it gains her. Lots of new names on the old Laoisn Offaly constituency
On a separate issue the Social Democrats Dublin candidates popped up on the news. I see Midland North West European candidate and nemesis of the centre right twitter dad’s, Ruairi Hearne, is standing in Dublin North West.
The Social Democrats Eoin Ó Broin doesn’t look altogether different from SF Eoin Ó Broin, which might garner him a few votes
Margaret Thatcher said she only needed 4 and look at the mistakes and fuck up she made….
Leadership?
By resigning?
That’s leadership for you….
Has anybody got a list of teachers in the Dáil?
Michael says they’re pure useless….

by doing stuff in the interest of the environment rather than the party
Reeling in the Years have this one stored away already
Bad for democracy
There’s a structural advantage for larger parties in three seaters compared to five seaters.

There’s a serious spark there between Gerry and Nicola.
She was allegedly banging his good pal King Size back in the day
Yeah that’s what I was getting at. 3 seaters may as well be FPTP
Could you imagine him sitting there between Mattie McGrath and Danny Healy Rae.
He wouldn’t be the first gangster elected to the Dail.
