Arnie is jumping on the bandwagon

We will see what this chap is made of now- Set to take on Poirier in September in a Vegas show down.

McGregor has been fast tracked to no.10 in the division… Not sure he is ready for a test like this but if he wins this he is more than a genuine contender.

Is he finished if he loses?

No, pal. But he will have to build it back up again fighting a few opponents outside top ten etc. This chap is a good solid fighter with a decent record- He would be second tier- defeat him and he is probably only one fight away from a title fight tho if he is ready for that is another thing.

Is there just one world champion at every weight division? That would give it one big advantage over boxing if there is. Can’t understand why boxing don’t do everything to unify the belts at every weight.

this chap needs top be taken down a peg or two

He will be in his next fight.

Major rumours that McGregor is co-main event at UFC 178, that is some achievement if true.

He sounds like the big lad from Boyzone

He is desperately trying to be as articulate/profound as he can be but it isn’t effortless yet but he has definitely practised it and worked on it. He sounds like a guy who has read self help books and taken lessons from them in terms of self improvement/speech/presentation and mantras.

In fairness to him he is clever enough to realise that it is an entertainment business and the persona he has created is entertaining in a Chris Eubank sort of a way where again it was all affected.

Are the fights real or are they managed in some way to achieve the result that benefits the organisation?

Can he back up the talk and is the next opponent rated?

All the Irish guys won in Dublin.

that Brazilian guy who barely turned up against McGregor had most of his wins in Brazil.

Absolutely real, pal.

Poirier is very highly rated and beating him will tell if McGregor is the real deal-I think he will.

+1

Beat him and he can mouth off. He’s still a level or two below Frankie Edgar tho.

He is really clever in how he decided he needed to create the package. He has obviously taken elocution lessons so they will understand him in America - he makes a definite attempt to pronounce words and ends of words - fighting and not fightin’.

Have to admire the effort at it all and not just the sporting parts. Clever to realise that he needed to be more than just a fighter as it is entertainment more than sport.

interesting to see how he progresses

His last fight looked like it was fixed, his opponent made no effort at all

That’s pathetic. What a sad cunt.

+1 he just sounds like a blabbering idiot

The man is a prick

I get TUM’s point that his approach will probably make him plenty of money but it demeans the pastime.

If Ray Darcy says it’s not a sport then it’s not a sport.
