[quote=“The Dunph”]It doesn’t look as though we’ll see Lesnar v the Russian anytime soon.

Yeah saw that Dunph, sounds like Lesnar has MS or something very serious like it,White is making it sound like he wont ever fight again,a shame as he brought fun to the cage.

Don’t write the man off yet lads

Just finished watching UFC 106,very poor as was 105 didn’t enjoy it at all. Tito Ortiz was very poor and will never be a contender again for the title I’m afraid. He kinda sickens me too as he always says he is 100% going into a fight, yet when things don’t go his way he always comes up with an injury list afterwards. It’s very rare any fighter goes in without some injury troubles so just shut the fook up and get on with it.
I’d love to see Koschek take on Dan Hardy for the no1 contender spot. Kos was spot on when he said Hardy should not be the no1 contender at this minute in time. If they did fight there should be intense thrash talking leading up to the fight too.
Sad to see Marcus Davis getting ko’d, had a feeling the clinch would not suit him with the height advantage Saunders has.
Big Nogs brother looked really dangerous with his stand up, I had 30euro on Cane at 13/10 so was disgusted with the quick ko.

I detest that litte rat Koschek… Some bullshit antics out of him the other night, he was more like a premiership player than a prized fighter.

That was mad stuff allright, I detest Koschek too but detest Hardy even more, and if they meet I hope he gives him a 3round beating something like the Ortiz/Shamrock first fight.
No way should Hardy be no1 contender yet, he has to face either Fitch, Kos or Alves. If he beats any one of them fair enough.
Koschek is an utter prick but continuously fights top competition even on short notice so I’d have to give him props for that(I suppose :D).

Watching the ultimate fighter finale here, Kimbo Slice v Houston Alexander on at the minute. Possible the worst mma fight I have ever seen, 7minutes of non stop circling with practically no strikes so far, abysmal to watch.

The state of the two of them at the end! If kimbo could improve his ground game he has potential…

And the coaches for the new house have also been announced… Chuck v Tito ! Thats gonna be mega.

Kimbo is a joke,a street fighting brawler who has no place in the octagon, if he stays and goes into the 205 pound division he will be killed,as for him going up to compete at heavyweight:eek: I would fear for his life.

Don’t know why you’re excited about those two being coaches to be honest. They’re never going to be relevant in terms of the title picture at light heavyweight again. Personally I think the show is incredibly stale at this stage and should be pulled alltogether. I suppose I’ll still enjoy seeing Chuck get his farewell knockout at the expense of Titos exceptionally large cranium though at the finale.

Dan Henderson has left the UFC for Strikeforce, looks like Dana the prick has been treating his fighters like shit yet again!

Yeah I just wanna see chuck bust him… I have no interset in the house as such.

Was sure they’d compromise and he’d stay with the UFC, I’m gutted over him going, one of my favourite fighters ever. Regardless of what he does for the rest of his career I’ll always remember that great night when he decapitated that mouthy cunt Bisping.
Bar Jake Shields at middleweight and Mousasi at lightheavy I don’t see many great matchups for him. Robbie Lawler he should beat easily, maybe Fedor at a catchweight or Cung Le if he returns to competitive action soon might be interesting.

I’d like to see Fedor land a few bombs on Dans granite chin to see if he can take them, the only time I saw him on the verge of getting his lights put out was when he fought Anderson Silva. He had the brains to try for the takedown though after getting rocked but got subbed easily as soon as it hit the floor.
Anderson Silva is a different animal to most though, he might have a chance with Fedor as his strikes are generally very wild where as Silvas are pin point accurate with power.
Then again Dans strikes are disgracefully wild looping overhand jobs too and he has been subbed a few times so Fedor would more than likely win it easily enough.

Just got to watch UFC 107 a few hours ago, I enjoyed this one I must say.
Frank Mir looked like a tank, the amount of muscle he has gained since his last fight is unreal. He weighed in at the top limit of 265pounds, obviously this is all being done in preparation for another crack at Lesnar (if he ever recovers from illness). I thought Mir would win but was awful surprised he was able to put kongo down with a single puch to set up the sub. Glad he did though, not a Kongo fan myself, he’ll never be a contender until he learns to wrestle and get a good sub defence.

I was really shocked also by Kenny Florian stopping Guida, I thought he’d win but by a decision. I thought Florian had zero power in his strikes as it’s usually accumulations of strikes that gets him most of his tko wins.
Guida has a granite chin too and was clearly badly rocked by the punch which eventually led to him being submitted.

BJ Penn is amazing at lightweight. He made Sanchez look as if he was a complete novice. I was sure Sanchez would give him a close fight but lose a decision. He was made look shit, It was great to see Diego get his face pucked in for about a minute in round one, I’d say he was thinking to himself what the fucks happening here then. Unusual to see him taking a beatdown like that. His cut was desperate looking too, might need a plastic surgery job to fix it up properly so it won’t keep splitting again in future fights.
Just goes to show how good GSP is the way he destroyed Penn at welterweight. Penn was way too small to compete with him at that weight though.
I’d love to see a catchweight between the two at 162.5 pounds but GSP would never manage to make that cut. He’s thebetter fighter anyway and would probably still win it but I’d like to see if the weight difference would make it a closer fight.

Only did one bet on the UFC and was a measly 5euro on Belcher/Gouveia to win the Fight Of The Night award at odds of 10/1. I knew I was in with a shout as it was basically a 3minute brawl of bombs being thrown at each other. I was sure though they wouldn’t award it as it only went 3mins. Great surprise to see it came in when I checked up on it. It probably only got it as Belcher was the home town hero, but I’ll gladly accept the few pound profit.

Just after watching the weekends Strikeforce event there. Any MMA fans on here should download it as it had one of the best MMA fights I have seen in years on it. Gilbert Melindez against Josh Thompson for the lightweight title, an incredible non stop action fight which Melindez won by decision.
But in the main event Scott Smith pulls yet another ko out of his ass in the last minute of the final round after getting the shit literally kicked out of him for the entire fight. It was incredible, I couldn’t believe it when it happened. You can never rule out this guy until he is literally asleep such is the power he has. I wouldn’t mind but he’s technically very poor but if he connects he is leathal. Basically a brawler but very exciting to watch when paired against another striker.

Saw it alright was sickened Cung Le lost to that dummy Smith,he really is just an upgrade of Phil Baroni,if there is any justice Le will get a rematch before the summer.

If Smith can beat him it doesn’t say much about him being a top guy. I have only seen him fight twice myself. This weekends one and against Frank Shamrock who was well past his prime then. Seems to be a lot of noise about him mainly due to the fact that he uses side and round house kicks in his fighting style. They do look amazing and are clearly powerfull the way they were driving Smith back and they broke Shamrocks arm also. I would imagine a decent wrestler would easily beat him though, Henderson should easily take Le if they fight.
Smith is just a tough brawler with bricks for hands, how he manages to pull these knockouts out of the bag when he’s in serious trouble amazes me.

Herring made an awful mistake against him when they fought in the UFC. Taking all that damage regularly cannot be good for you though. Scott Smith got 55,000 dollars for that fight, I’d say he was on max of 10,000 when he was with the UFC.

Just after watching UFC 108, I enjoyed this one mainly because the three small bets I did on it came in for a change.

The bookies had Sam Stout a ridiculous 21/10 best price to beat Joe Lauzon in what I considered to be a 50/50 fight. I had 25 on Stout to win at 2/1 with Paddy(Boyles were 21/10) and he duly obliged despite nearly getting his arm snapped in an armbar in the first round. He survived though and dominated the fight from there on.
(Dunph if you view this, did you lay Lauzon like you were thinking of?)
I also had 5euro on Paul Daley to win in round1 at 4/1, he duly obliged by knocking out Dustin Hazelett after a minute or two.
Finally I had another 5euro on the Stout/Lauzon fight to win Fight Of The Night honours at 8/1 which also came in.

I thought I was fucked with that and that the Evans/Silva main event would get it after Silva nearly pulled out the ko in the last round. It was funny to see Evans on the verge of being put to sleep again but Silva gassed so much, he could not find the energy to land another on the button.
All in all a successfull UFC for me.

Paul Daley looks like a beast of a striker, throw him a good wrestler next to see what his takedown defence is like, he could be a false dawn yet. Give him Fitch, Hughes or Koscheck and see how he does against them.
