Oil Prices Still Hovering Near $100 A Barrel Mark

It’ll go up another 30 cent by friday.

Surely it’s clear example of a cartel?? Never a huge difference in prices anywhere, never see proper discount sales or anything. They could probably put it to 4 euro a litre and wouldn’t see a huge drop in sales.

There would often be few cents difference in price but how much would you expect? All buying the same product the only variable is timing and scale

Most garages would make 4 or 5 cent a litre max… Prob some profiteering on timing last few weeks. Agree if it went to 3 euro people still buy it

The margins on fuel are tiny alright. The money is in the over priced food and coffee they sell

That’s some load of shite. So the Minister for the environment for the country can’t have 8 people working for him ffs. They’re advising him on hugely important stuff for the country they’re not fuckin tell him what to have for his dinner.

Yeah the garages make very little. Delivery wothin ireland also is low cost. The major drivers for cost is the wholesale costs (which is oit of control of ireland ojtsode of Whitegate) and taxes.

The goverment can reduce taxes. The EU have said they will allow countries to work outside of the VAT regulations due to the energy emergency. If you want to bitch and moan email your local FFG TD about your concerns. Ive plauged mine since friday and left them with i always had no confidence in this goverment to do right by the public. The reduction in excise has brought us back to last fridays levels, when i first contacted them on this issue.

Not if you know the right people

From memory most of the advisors had absolutely no qualifications for the postion at all and instead were green party cronies

I’d say the head of virgin media in Ireland for eg has a fair few ‘people advising him’

yes, the dept of environment is completely the wrong place for people who have dedicated their lives to green policies

Ireland exports a million tonnes of peat every year

Are we paying for them too?

Are we swapping it for coal?

its not just the environment , its Minister for Transport and the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications.

@Heyyoubehindthebushes

If you drive long distances slowing from 120 km/hr to 100 km/hr on a motorway reduces your fuel costs by about 40%. That’d have a much bigger impact than policy changes on excise, increases our energy security, and helps to mitigate the climate disaster we’re facing.
