The Brexit Pill
by Davy “Sparrow” Cameron

One night as I lay dreamin’ of pleasant days gone by
Me mind been bent on ramblin’ to old England I did fly
I stepped on board a vision and I followed with a bill
And I held a referendum and I took the Brexit pill

It was on the twenty third of June we entered the nightmare
Where England’s sons and daughters had all assembled there
The young, the old, the brave and the bold, their duty to fulfill
At the polling booths of England where they took the Brexit pill

I went to see my neighbours to see what they might say
The French they said “you’re dead and gone” the Germans said “you’ll pay”
I met with Mrs. Merkel, she’s as bold as ever still
For she used to write me speeches before we took the Brexit pill

I paid a flying visit to my first and only love
She was loyal as any underling but then she gave me the shove
She threw her arms around me sayin’, “Cameron, I love you still!”
She’s Tess the Reverend’s daughter who swallowed the Brexit pill

I dreamt I hugged and kissed her as in the days of yore
she said, “Davy, you’re only jokin’ as many’s the time before!”
The cock crew in the mornin’ he crewed both loud and shrill
And I awoke on the twenty-fourth of June having swallowed the Brexit pill

I remember the oul fella getting me to come inside to watch the BBC news about it

Same with Lockerbie, we had a great bond in watching the news together even from the age of 10 or 11

Remember Piper Alpha well, it was horrific.

Lineker is such a scumbag

Never knew much about it but had a read up on it there. I see Red Adair was involved in putting out the fire, I remember that name from when I was a young lad, was he just a celebrity fire fighter ?

He certainly had celebrity, christ I had completely forgotten about him. John Wayne starred in a film about him.
I think he was a pioneer of oil well fire fighting and developed a lot bnb of the techniques used with them.

He surely called you in for the Zeebruga ferry disaster and the Sea Empress oil tanker crash.

Never heard of Sea Empress.
We were a bit underwhelmed by the whole Zebrugge thing.

Were you too young for the Whiddy Island disaster?

Vague recollection, too young I think.
