Passport renewal

First time general applicants can take up to 40 days.

From abroad:

Could take a while longer I’d say.

I think you can book an appointment in a passport office and walk in. You’d need a valid excuse to get it fast tracked and I’m sure it would cost more.

So I wouldn’t be leaving it on the long finger is all I’m saying.

The passport office is still a basket case at the moment for new applications.

We applied for a passport for little one on 17th of October. Only arrived yesterday.

Right just applied online there with a selfie. I’ll let the forum know how I got on.

That’s not bad. We applied in August for the bambino and received it mid December. Calls to the passport office were an interesting experience :joy:

Got mine using the service, through an embassy whilst abroad, during covid. 6 weeks. Paddy’s not good at much but he has handing out passports efficiently down to a tee.

Paid for a new one yesterday. I’ll report back.

I hope you paid the extra for the card id, they’re a godsend.

I travel a lot, especially in the states, need ID for everything, saves you having to bring the pp on your person. Need pp verification for many services, also fund it handy having the card to hand.

No duck face and no beautification filters Fagan.

I’ve renewed them for the kids online before, just wondering if there is a current backlog. Mine expires next October.

Sure the embassies send them to Dublin for processing. At least here they do.

Useless at e gates

Did you have to send off your passport with their applications

Not for renewals. First passports you need to send everything in paper.,
