That’s for low scoring. Have Tipp no midfielders?
From their perspective I should’ve said ![]()
Mcguiness could do with a carvery dinner.
Is yer fella at midfield a brother of Padraic?
Ya, huge young fella, good footballer and plays a share of basketball
He was impressive. Probably the standout in general play.
That article linked above is a textbook example of throwing a group players under a bus as you’re ever likely to see
Ya it’s a stinker. Especially for underage!
Result not good - Phase 1 Exit for Tipp pretty much sealed
Was a shabby thing to do to a group of under 17s.
Maybe was intended as tough love from Coach - failed anyway.
Them young fellas obviously don’t get it.
Waterford winning minor football games wouldnt be that common i would have thought?
It’s a great news story for Waterford football combined with the U20 result.
It’s absolutely horrific for a county like Tipperary with a proud footballing heritage to be where they are. I simply can’t understand why they would appoint an outside manager to an underage side. Tipperary appear to have burnt all the good they got from that Munster Senior win in less than 5 years. Hard to credit.
They’ll have time to think about it on their walk home night
Aah shtop
Kev would be reaching out to teams constantly asking about roles/availability. For a team like Tipp Minor Footballers to have outside interest would be rare (and interest in general is so rare even within Tipp), so they begrudgingly went with it.
I find it hard believe there wouldn’t be proud football men in Tipperary willing to take on roles at minor.
Anyway, you reap what you sow.
You’d have to say we are pound for pound the worst football county in the country when you look at all grades. County board dont give a shite. Its not enough to throw money at something at this day and age. I’ll go back to when they started mass relegation of teams a few years ago. Redrawing club championships. They went consecutive years whittling away senior teams. 3 or 4 relegated each year. Because it was deemed “uncompetitive”. If you really analysed it though it was uncompetitive because Commercials were hammering the shite out of teams. Interrupted occasionally by Loughmore. Those 2 have ruled the roost and the rest are just cannon fodder.
You’d actually have a good senior championship if you took Commericals out of it but no one can compete with them in terms of size and scope. They have been even more dominant underage hoovering up minor and U20 titles. Similar in many ways to Ballygunners dominance in Waterford. An apathy sets in and clubs aims are merely about survival. Players themselves dont buy in to same extent. So you still have the monopoly or duopoly at senior level doling out the hammerings but less players exposed to higher standards and the highest level.
Theyve shrunk an already small playing pool. Many of these ex senior clubs now prioritise a hurling title without the existential threat of losing senior football status knowing they can plod away in an intermediate football championship. Theres really no way back in the short to medium term.
Usual suspect obsessed with underage football in Tipperary now, only cause they’re not going well obviously ![]()
