The max range on electric cars range from 70-150 miles and you can only get the top out of them if you drive at around 40mph . For a country like Ireland the best option is prob a plugin hybrid .
Clarkson is right.
FAO of Carryharry
What sort of margin do car dealers make on new car sales?
Here, Flano, I hope youāre knocked down and decapitated by a bus this evening, but that thereās just enough sentience left in your severed head to feel the searing pain of being crushed and parked on by the tyre of the car driving behind as it desperately and vainly tries to stop.
Jaysus Sid :o , and you do be calling the PDC crowd rough.
Ive just seen 3 lads pushing a 161 Opel Astra up OāConnell St to a tow truck
Pieces of shit
The AIDS of cars.
I knew harry would enjoy that one
Also I predict within 10 years that the sales of electric cars will surpass the sales of diesel/petrol cars, with the resale value of non electric cars plummeting .
Iām going changing my yolk in a few weeks time. NCT and tax are up at the end of the year and canāt be arsed pumping money into it. Going to go down the PCP route and will take the best deal I can get.
A Mazda 3 saloon tops my list preferences followed by a Focus titanium but I may well go for a diesel Octavia or Nissan Pulsar if they give me a good deal.
Anyone any thoughts on a medium sized car out there in the 20-25k range?
Call in that Hayes lad in Ennis and bargain like mad.
They seem to be fierce competitive for new cars, especially for cash.
You wonāt go wrong with the Mazda or Skoda. The Octavia will be far more roomy interior & booth wise though.
Steer clear of the Focus & Pulsar.
The last car I bought was one tenth of your budget, and itās a fantastic motor. Also a Mazda.
I would advise a pre-owned with low mileage, buy in from the UK and you will save yourself a small fortune.
Iāve only ever had a Volvo so Iām predisposed to them.
The Skodaās are a bit plain. I assume the Octavia is just a bigger version of the Rapid? Same spec/engine? I will take the best deal I get not overly worried about size or spacr. Worst comes to worst I will have it for 24 or 36 months and then another new yolk.
Wouldnt be mad on the Pulsar but Nissan offer a serious scrappage and finance deal.
I would have been the same until I was convinced to switch from a 2.4d S80 to a 2.2d Honda Accord. Still love Volvos, but the Japs make excellent motors.
As for UK motors, the further south the better due to less salt on roads.
A beast.
I think the PCP is a bubble ponzi type affair. If stg remained low it is likely to depress the value of used cars significantly as will the flood of new cars sold on PCP now. The PCP gives a gteed min value but thatās āminā. Itās supposed to give you equity for your next motor as well. But thatās assuming open mkt value is higher than the gteed min. If your only getting the min value back in three years itās an expensive way to rent a car for a few years.
If you can afford to buy it with a CU loan or something likely far better off
Edit: also who gtees min value, the dealer or the maker? If the dealer thatās a fair risk to be taking on
South of England import. Hands down the best car Iāve owned. It went like shit off a stick, and was a lot of fun to drive. I regularly had to remind myself that I was an adult with a wife and kids, but thereās something about getting behind the wheel of a Honda. Even a diesel one.
