FAO @Fagan_ODowd @ChocolateMice, having a fantastic green saffron madras. I did it in the slow cooker, cooked as per the instructions but with a fistful of dried chillies thrown in, let it cook a few hours and then added the chicken for about 45 minutes. Topped with coriander and a squeeze of lime. Cracking dinner with a good few portions left in the pot. Should have cut the onions more finely though or even blended them. Live and learn.

Thatā€™s amazing. Iā€™ve just polished off a Green Saffron Tikka with chicken, cauliflower, potatoes and peas.

Did you use chicken thighs or breast? I reckon you could leave the thighs in for the who,e cooking time if youā€™re going the slow cooker route.
I see Arun from green saffron has a huge supermarket deal with the major players in France, terribly nice fella, great market trader in his early days.

Very rare I drink alcohol nowadays but was out last night to celebrate the election.
Drinking is a horrible affliction.
Eating a lot of shit today as a result.

Slice of white toast with buter and a pint of water.
Cup of black tea.
3 birdā€™s eye potatoe waffles and a half can of beans.
2 jaffa cakes.
Black coffee.
A slice of current cake with butter and a tea.
A brunch ice cream.
A portion of chicken wings.
Braised steak with champ, gravy, veg. A few fresh fish gougans and a handful of chips.
2 pints of smithwicks.
An iceberger.
A black coffee. 4 oatfield emeralds.

I had 11 pints Friday night and around 14 or 15 yesterday, I was good for nothing today, I had a full English for breakfast, I went down then and bought a loaf of sourdough with a load of ham and colelsaw, and ate the lot in around 2 hours, then I had a massive roaster dinner, drinking is a mugs game

Drinking to excess is truly a mugs game

Unreal

Agree. Would have been better with thighs too Iā€™d say, but I had recently bought 10 chicken boobs for a tenner so I worked away with what I had to hand.

Picked up a big scelp of a turkey breast for 6 euro in lidl to throw into the slow cooker. Should I just leave it plain or try make some sort of pulled turkey?

@Juhniallio @Julio_Geordio and other slow cookers. Time constraints at the weekend so thinking of doing the following; cook the meat through the night before and then putting it in the slow cooker the next day with the veg for 4 or 5 hours. Is this safe?

What kind of meat mate?

Beef, bro. Gonna do a casserole or goulash or something like that.

Would you not cook it the night before altogether?

Then put in fridge with veg and all and then reheat the next day?

Thatā€™s what Iā€™d do mate

Cheers, bro. Iā€™ll look into the feasibility of that tomorrow

Whats wrong with cooking it in the slow cooker? If youā€™ve 5 hours for veg thats more than enough for beef.

Recommend me a decent slow cooker ladsā€¦ the cheap ass one I have is definitely faulty as it doesnā€™t have much impact on the food even after 8 hours at high settingā€¦ (And no im not a roaster who likes everything well done)
