Ah we’d a great day out. The lights show in Omeath on the way back then. Only had to put me hand in the pocket (cheap Tipp bastard) for grub in Carlingford

My mother in law is an Omeath woman. Moved with her family to Dublin as a teenager in the early 70s as some of her brothers had a very lucky escape when British soldiers shot at people in Newry one night after a dance. Her parents took the decision to move away before anything worse could happen them. It’s a lovely part of the world.

It’s a grand spot. We used to live on the peninsula but the other side of it. They do some show of lights there for the Christmas

One of my earliest memories of Christmas is going to Newry.

For a 1980s Dub it was fair exotic.

on 8th December?

Earlier I think. The 8th December was for mugging off Muldoons in Dublin

Gerry would know all about going behind people’s backs alright. It how he’s lived his life.

I’d imagine KFW is exactly what Varadkar would have been like at that age had he been brought up in an era of social media.

Is the ‘bint’ part of her name the opposite to a maiden name.

Bint is “daughter of”, her maiden name I suppose
