I think it’s a reasonable question.
If no one other than politicians benefited from Guards discretion that’s fair enough, but loads of people benefit from it every day.

Think FFG appointed him to wind up IRA/SF because he was refusing to cooperate with some legacy collusion investigations where Irish people were murdered by the brits in british occupied Ireland. Kneel Richmond welcomed his appointment as far as I recall.
