Phil Hogan - We'll miss him now he's gone

Ten days ago the permanently outraged mob forced Michael Cawley to resign as head of Bord Failte for not supporting Irish tourism and going to Italy on his holidays. Big Phil came home from Brussels for his holidays and has been an avid supporter of the domestic tourism sector, travelling the length and breadth of the country, even visiting Roscommon. Now they want to see Big Phil sacked too. Thereā€™s no winning with him.

@Lazarus will be calling on @Tassotti to be sacked next.

Boris Johnson rubbing his hands in glee. Another good result for the brits. Ye cunts deserve everything ye get in the Brexit negotiations

Phil is some man for the homework. Checking with the Hotel Federation before going to dinner and checking the Citizens Information website before hopping into the car. Shame he didnā€™t also check the rules of the road before using the mobile while driving.

Those times were as frequent as Leitrims Connacht titles.
Big Phil is a fucking EU Commissioner not a county councillor taking bungs.
Youā€™re an awful man so you are.

Pre covid Iā€™d regularly have been in the car at that hour. Roads would be busy

There once was a dream that was the European Commission

His 14 days would have been up before the golf if he was back in the country in July FFS

I was having a look there at some of the postings that Eire commissioners have got over the years. Michael Oā€™Kennedy got Personnel, Administration and the Statistics Office. David Byrne not a whole lot better in Consumer Affairs.

God knows what Paddy will end up with if he succeeds in the aim of driving Big Phil out of office.

A Once in a lifetime opportunity

How will Paddy react if he succeeds in getting Big Phil sacked only for Frau Ursula to go and appoint Commissioner Verstager as the new Trade Commissioner?

Be careful what you wish for.

Verstager would be serious step up by the commission on big Phil. Then again our rip off insurance industry would be delighted if she went away
