Really? It is getting widespread architectural aclaim , It includes a living wall, it will be a real icon for Dublin if it goes ahead.
The other buildings on the North Docklands you can criticise for being short, but they are generally a higher quality to the South Docklands which was a wasted opportunity completely. Dublin Landings, the Salesforce development, the Central Bank and the Convention Centre are high quality buildings with the Samuel Beckett Bridge a cut above.
Grand Canal Square is very nice, too short in one section but Bolands Mills is a high quality and good sized development that is nearly completed.
The Connolly Quarter is also excellent, with a good range of building sizes and will bring some much needed further gentrification to that part of Dublin.
Iâd agree with you that generally buildings and development have been poor since the Brits left & that we have been height averse, but there are some excellent buildings now, some excellent buildings under construction and excellent ones in the pipeline.
