Do you believe in Barcelona and Spanish football exceptionalism? I actually do like but do you? I’ll put that to @Arthur as well

I’m busy right now at the intersection of behavioural & sports psychology.

Real Madrid next?

I’ll cut to the chase so. It’s Ferran Sorriano (Barcelona and Pep recruiter) Ferran Sorriano that is buying this Elliot Anderson fella for 130 mill.

Probably not but he isn’t without talent at the same time. City and playing next to the likes of Boaddi and Rodri, the automated nature of some of the play and all that, he’ll do grand.

All the likes of McAllister and Enzo are doing is receiving the ball from their fullback and CB on the half turn and with their back to goal. It just takes balls to do it. He rarely will be asked to at City, when it’s necessary, Rodri will do it. He’ll be grand.

Apart from Croatia game England were very poor all tournament. I did not understand the confidence.

I’d also worry about his ability to last a full 90 mins. He was hooked in some games around the hour mark and in some games was retreating deeper and deeper as game went on. But he is very young and still has some developing to do. Should be a massive player in years to come. Camavinga before announced his name in world football in a similar way but hasnt really kicked on since. Everyone had high hopes for him but it hasnt worked out. Midfield is a tough stomping ground for young talent in general. Likes of Mainoo, Ugarte, Pedri, Gavi, Zubamendi, Joao Felix have all had some teething problems too.

City could surely be shit without pep no matter what their players athletic and aerobic ceiling is like

Of course mate but one of the main architects of the modern Spanish football dynasty you hold in such high esteem is the one buying him, so he surely has at least as good a chance as any other big money signing of succeeding.

Pep, Txixi and this guy Sorriano think as one mate, they are alligned in their vision and philosophy about football.

In reality these fellas have eff all to do with the success of Barcelona, Spain or Abu Dhabi.

I recall when Peter Kenyon left Manchester United to go to Chelsea there were people confidenty proclaiming that Kenyon had been more important than Alex Ferguson in Manchester United’s success, and you think to yourself, what are these people smoking.

Ewan must be @Cicero_Dandi or perhaps @Nembo_Kid

Ewan’s cockney banker Mayo fan is feeding him another MASSIVE scoop. Something about All Ireland ticket allocations.
It might be as big a story as Mayo panellists staying in a business park.

Im sure the Banker made use of this policy a few times.

Nasty, nasty stuff.

A combination of Jim Gavin, Ger Loughnane, Kevin Heffernan, Mickey Harte, Bill Shankly, Jurgen Klopp, Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola and Norm Smith wouldn’t have dragged that Kerry team over the line today.

They didn’t want to know, and that’s entirely down to the players.

There’s always been question marks over Jack. Some of us knew

did you see Ewan’s follow up comment
