Price of a Pint

Oops, I never knew about it being illegal for publicians not to sell beer that they bought in a supermarket, I would have thought that once they declared the tax on the money they take in that they’d be ok, they mustn’t be able to sell ham sandwiches either if they buy the ham in a supermarket as well.

With some more duty likely to be put on the “old reliables” in next weeks budget we could be looking at paying more for our pint come early next month. Even a 20c increase on duty will surely bring all lagers over the fiver threshold with stouts getting extremely close.

Meant to post this earlier but myself and Tinnion were pinting it on Saturday night after the game in Messr Maguires, discussing how to get TFK posters more in touch with their feelings, whilst being charged the grand total of 12.10 for a horrible pint of Guinness (5.20) and a pint bottle of Bulmers (6.90).

Disgraceful.

That’s shocking. And messers is a shithole too.

In fairness to the place there was a far bit of talent in there I must say. But the prices are extorionate.

Mother of God!

6.90 for a bout of gut rot

Ben is right, Messers is some shithole, the place is actually dirty

I paid 9 for a pint of Kronenburg in a jazz club in Paris on Saturday night if it makes you feel any better.

Then, afterwards, in a club, 5.50 for a half-pint. I fell about the place laughing. It’s almost like an arty prank to be charging so much for a piddling amount of beer served in a plastic cup.

Cheers Tinnion.

Hang on, why didn’t you drink their own booze??? It’s only 4 a pint. Not bad value in fairness. And there’s always some nice tourist girls to look at.

Ben also thinks Messers is a shitehole.

Huh

Don’t worry about it Fran.

Get with the programme puke

For fecks sake mbb.

I fcuking despise Messers. Haven’t paid for a pint since February 5th and can’t say I miss the price of the stuff. The savings are remarkable really.

This joke isn’t funny anymore gavin

Edit: Messers is a cunt of a place. Too many stairs

6.90 for a bottle of Cider is crazy, no way can a pub justify that kind of a price…

I went from one extreme to the other last night, €3 for a pint in Dicey’s (very busy) then €6.50 for a pint in Cafe En Seine (very quiet). €5 cover charge into Dicey’s alright but still. There were some young lads there almost weeping with joy at the value of it all.

I was in Dicey’s a few weeks ago and the pint was 5.50.
