Price of a Pint

I heard something about €3 a in Diceys alright, where’s the catch? What nights is it for?

Am I the only one who thinks pints in Diceys are utter slop?

Don’t think there is a catch with Diceys, it’s a thursday night thing. The pints aren’t great but they’re not twice as bad as a six quid pint elsewhere, anyway bottles are €3 too if it’s consistency you’re after.

3 a bottle? That must be a new thing then, I got raped in there a while back for 5 for a bottle, robbing coonts.

Do they stay at that price all night long?

That place would be charging nearly 6 euro for a pint by the end of the night before.

It’s an all night thing. Selected shots are the same. If you’re into Jager bombing, you’ll get em for about €4 each based on six jagermeisters and two Red Bulls all at €3 a each.

It’s a great place to get fired up on the cheap after watching an intriguing puppy stake down in Shelbourne Park I can tell you. Fair play to them I say, while the other joints are empty, Dicey’s was rocking last night even with it pissing down out the back.

So where would you say has the best pint in Dublin (I’m starting research now in advance of coming home next year) - naturally I’m talking about Guinness.

City Centre: The Palace, Fleet Street.

Suburbs: McEvoys, Hazelhatch.

Hazelhatch is dubious at best there Ben.

Bollocks, 3.90 for a pint of plain that pleases the tongue in a ridiculously good way.

I didn’t mean the drink, I meant location. A suburb of where?

It’s actually just about inside the Dublin border there Flano;)!!

Actually, the platforms in Hazelhatch train station are separated by the Kildare/Dublin border. Crossing the footbridge in the train station means crossing over the border.

For me: Kehoes, Mulligans and Brogans on Dame Street.

If it doesnt have a number in it’s postcode it’s no use to me.

When are we going there then?

Keoghs is a grand spot for a pint, just down the road from McDaids aswell.

Dun Laoghaire and Blackrock don’t have postcodes, far from useless areas imo.

Its all a matter of perspective. I mean this whole rock of a country is utter shit compared to my homeland. Im actually slightly depressed being back here.

Anyway, when are we hitting the Hatch?
