Appendage is seething in “Protein Shake users shown to be bellends” shocker
Think about what you said, then go learn something about Sudden Adult Death syndrome, you utter fool.
Well said
Kevin, what is your stance on average joe’s (office workers and the likes who think they are more than just a simple office worker) using protein shakes instead of scrambling up an egg or throwing on a chicken breast or three? I’m sure you know people who do and do not use protein shakes. I’m also sure you have a good example or a funny anecdote about the use of protein shakes by the simple folk.
they are an addition to your diet, they are easier than scrambling up eggs everytime. I agree food is better, but its just not realistic to expect ordinary folk to prepare and cook (and even eat) an extra meal or two a day, which is what would be needed. Some professionals, due to having plenty time off, in fact don’t use supplements and just eat the shit out of it, healthily. But they can afford it and have the time for it.
Its expensive to be healthy these days.
I’m not an expert but you can scramble a couple of eggs in a few minutes.
You would look like a right cunt scrambling a few eggs on the bus on the luas or in the office
Shaking your protein just about anywhere is the ultimate in the cool however
Nothing like showing the world you are in recovery from 5k on the treadmill
Just had a lovely bananna flavoured Gold Standard shake after my workout. I went for a combo of ten horizontal and ten vertical shakes.
Quelle fucking surprise.
What other flavours can you get mate?
Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla… More colours than a rainbow pal.
You thinking of investing?? Mind you dont get the cheap shit. Full of sugar and other gunk.
Yes mate, I’m going to be adventurous and put my scepticism to the test.
USM, Gold Standard are decent enough brands.
FitnessIreland.com is fairly reasonably priced. 2kg tub of goldstandard for 47euro delivered to your door. It can retail for up to 60 in shops.
How long would a 2kg tub last?
That really depends on how much you use. But let’s say 1 shake a day (2 scoops) about two months
CM-
As Im a man of leisure I think Ill get fit
I have an exercvise bike here that I can use-do i need a speicfic spinning bike though- would I be uber fit if i did spinning every day

I aiming for weightloss at first then will get kettle bells to build up muscle
any tips mate?
would you all like a fitness update on my TASE living the dream thread?
Alright mate!?
A Tase blog on his journey to fitness would be sensational!
I dont want to step on Kev’s toes here by offering in depth advice but I’ll throw in a few tips.
Spinning is a form of interval training with some muscle work thrown in… You can do your own variation on an exercise bike if you like but the transition between gears, or levels in your case, wont be as smooth- But No big deal.
I wouldnt do it every day pal, I would mix it up with some sprints if you can, 20 mins session even would be fine and a light jogging session. Maybe use the bike 2/3 times a week, and if looking to shed some pounds do it first thing in the morn before breakfast to avoid having to burn off any consumed calories and go straight into the fat reserves.
Of course if you really wanna shed pounds, weights are the best way to go! Our body is made up of over 20% muscle pal, and when working this to extreme the body burns cals for up to 36hrs after, where as interval training can last maybe up to 12hrs, jogging pretty much stops just after you stop jogging. But if you dont want to bother mixing with the muscle heads and roid takers in a gym find a pitch with goals and do some military style training whereby you use your own weight against your self- Pull ups, push ups, squats, lunges etc
Of course you could always scan the local message boards to see if any 5 aside footy is taking place and educate them with your fingallian/Italian esque game!
The big question is tho, will you use butter or milk when scrambling your eggs??
FFS
You are a simple Irish man and not a professional weight lifter to the best of my knowledge. You don’t need some protein shake, what you need is to man up. Since when do people need a protein shake after doing a bit of exercise? This is one of the worst fads to hit our nation. It does make me laugh at how pathetic some people really are
brilliant mate
spinning 3 times a week and then weights the rest- are kettle bells good?
will play ball too
butter with a dab of milk
TASE, I’d ignore CM’s advice regarding the use of goals for pull ups etc. Every now and again I read unfortunate cases about individuals who were crushed to death under goalposts. Don’t become part of these statistics.
