So people can get back to work would be the main reason. Also kids seem to be the lowest risk of all. If you canāt send them back, you canāt send anyone back
In another world, thereād have been some amount of cans drank along the canal outside The Barge this evening.
Lads if you go the pub and you try and social distance you should be fucked out wearing your underpants.
I donāt think there is anybody off work as their kids canāt go to school. That was a red herring. Most will certainly rather send kids to a relative or friend to mind them than into a class and teacher who they donāt have a clue where theyāve been. I think the schools could open but most parents wouldnāt send them. There are serious logistical problems it will take months to iron out. (typical Ireland but thatās the way it is)
Iāll do babysitting for ye lads.
The cans of Guinness will be very hard drunk. Might be a job for the large bottles
In a previous life Iād be sitting there right now with a ādonāt tell Tony he thinks we are at home flagā
You couldnāt drink Guinness from a can surely? The thought has never even crossed my mind. Bring a plastic glass and give out about it, as per tradition on match days
Large bottles of Cider by the neck.
Oh yes.
Pixie headed scoop monkeys will be face down in the street in hours.
I hope youāre right, huge part of what we are. Missing them now, along with sport and live music. Home entertaining will get bigger, right time of year too for barbecues, sipping a few cans out the back. Pubs pre Covid have already lost a generation of pre drinkers, now in their 20s. Some of the older clientele may not be in a hurry back either, I can definitely see many small to medium sized pubs gone forever. As you say, 6 months time might see some normality return, a bit optimistic Iād say
Yeah - Iām not suggesting that things will be back to normal but will look very different.
That shit needs to stop a press release each day would suffice instead of Dr Cervical Check pontificating every evening.
I literally canāt wait
Licences available for 30k at moment. Were 55k a few months back. And 150k a few years back.
Pubs are a thing of the past lads, a couple of drinks with your dinner in a restaurant with a mask or two on now is the futureā¦outside of course as well.
You wouldnāt be one for getting out all that often Iād say
A huge issue now is the value of the premises, almost worthless today. Went absolutely nuts up to the crash, some plunge since. A medium sized pub in a provincial town worth up to 5 or 600k then, now only the value of a site, maybe sell to a developer for offices / coffee shop (the new pub). Publicanās retirement route non existent now
@Batigol it sounds like we are gonna have to do some serious dranking to keep these boys in business when we OIUTF.
Youād surely make money off an offy at the minute?
