Pubs opening

Fcukin hell… Is the beer garden in the supervalu car park?

Cough

The Goat doesn’t have a beer garden

It has a massive car park though.

The Silver Granite in Palmerstown was selling take away pints which people decided to drink in the pub car park.

Queues there all day. Great to see it. Not for me the cans are grand but at least people are starting to see sense.

I couldn’t give a fuck if they never opened again. Crying for Government aid to charge exorbitant prices, aligned to poor quality service to subsidise their lifestyles.
Publicans have rode Paddy up the hole for years, Paddy’s realised Landlord is dispensable.

People may think I’m begrudging, so be it, but pubs and publicans are in for a shock. You’re no longer necessary, the average Muldoon has found life without your melodic scams.

This is the new normal folks.

Many publicans aren’t landlords. I take it you consider 50,000 employed and linked jobs dispensable too

Publicans are going to have to prioritise serious pint merchants upon reopening. No more pint-nurser types. Fellas will have to get stuck into a minimum of 8 if this is to be viable

Well we need a designated driver @iron_mike…

Our local been doing food for a while - collection only … they were handing out a few pints yesterday - I had one and drank it outside in the sun. I’m hitting the beach today after work for an evening swim… hopefully there’s a few pints going when I get home.

True. There are many that have worked their way up in the pub trade and have put everything they had into opening a pub. You also have many decent families who’ve run their pubs for years and now are going to be under serious pressure. Sending their kids to college is going to be tricky now as the debts mount up. This has a knock on effect.

If all the pubs were wiped out in Ireland, it would have an impact on our tourism sector too. People who come here want to have a pint in Ireland, not have a can of stout in a car park

Don’t forget all the people in college who rely on part time work in pubs to help pay the bills during college.

Publicans lobbied for shorter off licence hours and minimum alcohol unit pricing - all for the public’s health of course.

The world turns and people’s behaviour changes. Publicans will go the way of travel agents.

Everything must change for everything to stay the same.

What have all the lads who sit on high stools for 6 hours a day 5-6 days a week been doing during the lockdown around the country? Some of the local lads here are walking the roads together and have never looked healthier

Real whiff off some of the posts here today

A few more quid in their pocket as well.
