I’m just curious as to how you know the age of the sheep. Do you have an eye for that type of thing?

My uncle is a master butcher and I know mutton when I see it.

What age would you estimate the sheep was when slaughtered? Maybe ask your uncle before making more of an ass of yourself.

We’ll have to wait for @ironmoth to respond, but my money is on you being a bluffer.

Mutton is gorgeous, takes a bit more time than lamb but it’s delicious, the in laws regularly do a bit of mutton when we visit.
