Ravenous

The one in Liffey Valley is a bog standard place really. I was there ages ago and it was alright. There is a steak house in Terenure called JD’s steakhouse, that is a step up from the Liffey Valley place in my opinion. I’ll be going to Shanahans sometime next month which is probably the best one in Ireland from what I’ve heard.

All bullshit aside though the best steaks I have ever eaten have been in the States. S&W in New York and Strip House( this is where I had the best steak I ever had) in the Planet Hollywood casino in Las Vegas.

there’s a place in Rathgar called the Ivy Court that is meant to do a good steak…i’d presume its an expensive place though…Best steak i’ve had would be in America too…that foes for burgers, hot dogs…used to love the Philly steaks…Mate was in Argentina and said the steaks there were the best he ever had…

Just had a fantastic Thai Chilli Beef. Best Thai Chilli Beef I’ve had in months.

That place is shut. Lebanonese restaurant there now.

Lads get yourself down to Gallagher’s Boxty House* in Temple Bar and get the Bacon and Cabbage. I swear you’ll thank me for it.

  • Mr Gallagher is from Mohill, Co Leitrim

Bacon and cabbage. Are you for real?

Yes.

The last time I ate there, tourists from all over the world were creaming themselves over it.

And you still ate it?

Yep.

Lovely flavour.

I had some home grown cabbage with my dinner yesterday evening. Fantastic stuff altogether.

The key is to use the water that boiled the bacon to cook the cabbage.

And parsley sauce - essential.

Seriously though, Gallagher’s Boxty House is the spot. I would defy anyone, even Flano, not to be impressed after eating there.

Having a Goodfellas Delica Pepperoni right now. Have to say I’m disappointed with it.

I’m having a Galaxy Ripple and a Silk Cut purple in about five mins. I don’t even smoke but they’re just thrown there on the coffee table. I’ll get a light off the hob on the cooker.

Do you not have two pieces of flint lying around anywhere? Or a magnifying glass and a sun ray? Or even two sticks to rub together?

Had duck earlier for the dinner followed by a strawberry cornetto.

Still haven’t decided on a supper option.

Nah, there isn’t a light to be had apart from the hob. Now that I examine them I see that they’re Silk Cut blue, they used to belong to Art Foley, survivors from the TFK night out a few weeks back.

All duck or no dinner?

Duck is vastly overrated in my opinion. I hadn’t had it in a few months and just felt like it for some reason. Now i know why i hadn’t had it in so long.

Was it a full roast duck or a duck breast? I cooked a mean Duck A L’Orange.

It’s a greasy bird, hell of alot of fat off it from memory.

Do you shoot Runt?
