Dead right HangBlaa, your local butcher is your only man. Got some porterhouse steaks from my local place last week, best I have ever tasted. This guy has his own farm so he can guarantee top quality all the time.
Also Irish beef is far superior to both Brazilian and Argentinian beef.
And of course the maximum a steak should be cooked to is medium rare.
Irish farming standards are pathetic- us taxpayers subsidise them & they still poison us with BSE etc- the whole traceability thing was forced upon them due to the numerous scandals that there was- if they are only giving window dressing to high standards due to regulation they are ethically bankrupt & if it wasnt for subsidies they would be financially bankrupt - that is why I would never eat irish meat
Thinly veiled ‘The closest I get to beef is Findus burgers’ post imho.
thinly veiled “im an unethical farmer supported by the hardworking taxpayers” post imho
Kelloggs Start is Savage.
Without poppy farmers you wouldn’t be able to get through the day, NCC.
non irish poppy farmers:thumbsup:

Runt, who is Steve Cram?
Runt, who is Steve Cram?
He was a Brit runner. Think he won an Olympic silver medal. Never really achieved his full potential though. It was the Kelloggs start that fucked him.
When you think about it, it must have been a poor time for British athletes when a mere silver medalist was held up as a role model and able to get endorsements.
A lot to be said for a bowl of porridge
In a recent blindfold survey, Irish steak was found to be the best out of a list of European nations. I read this in the Irish Daily Mail during the week, the most anti-Irish paper on the news stands in Ireland, that’s saying something!!
Can’t find a link to the article anywhere, of course only two lines were dedicated to the blindfold test, the rest of the article dealt with how the Irish can’t cook a steak and then in patronizing fashion went on to actully give step by step instructions on how to cook a steak. Fooking hate The Irish Daily Mail!
NCC and the Daily Mail in bed together eh? Who would have guessed?
Do you apply the same standards to the irish banks, health service, etc ncc?
I assumme you do use banks?
With regard to your point on Irish farming standards what do you know of farming standards in other countries to be so critical?

NCC doesn’t realise it was the pernicious money-grabbing international feedstuff corporations who caused the BSE crisis, not the farmers. If they hadn’t insisted on bulking feedstuffs with animal byproducts and then feeding them back to confirmed herbivores like cattle, there never would have been a problem. How would sharks react to being fed cabbage? Not very well imho.
I take grave offence to every word of this post. I know many a noble farmer, none more so than my old man, bless him.
Ah in fairness SS calling the feed “meat and bonemeal” was a bit of a giveaway. Still it was poor practice by the feed companies that caused the BSE crisis rather than the farmer.
All the above doesn’t detract from your more fundametal point that ncc is, as usual, ill-informed in his criticisms.
