Republic of Ireland v Georgia 12/10/19 - Switzerland 15/10/19

Neither can Hourihane.

I don’t see him suddenly going for a more attack-minded approach away to Switzerland tbh.

But we need to win.

I think it will be a flat bank of four sitting in front of the back four with Connolly trying to get in behind and occupying their centre halves and Robinson shuttling between midfield and supporting Connolly

4-3-1-2… same stability at the back and a central focus in attack… going wide has got us the square root of fuck all

you’re going to make @Bandage say grrrrrr again

I would have thought he was more likely to go with the way we usually play and try and nick a goal.

Doesn’t matter. Big mick will play conservatively and hope we nick one from a set piece

I’ll do it for him.

Grrrrr

Cullen, Connolly, Byrne and O’Dowda should start tomorrow night.

I wish. No chance.

once again i call this perfectly
anyone who reckons a right wing back can suddenly go out and play left full hasnt a clue and i mean hasnt a clue about playing football
if we want to force MD to play on the left at least play the man as a left wing back and not with someone like maclean in front of him who dosent know if he is coming or going .
its utterly irrelvant that MD played left full 4 seasons ago - why was he always turning in on his right last weekend? its because its now engrained in his DNA from 3 seasons at top level AND AND as a left full with that eejit maclean ahead of him he has no channel to charge into so he has to play like an orthodox left full but he’s a right footed right wing back— its an abomination

we should have put coleman on RHS of a back 3 and go 3 5 2
as for jack byrne - his time was 70 mins last saturday but mick didnt go with it- right now the man is our only creative player with doherty and guess what - we dont use them in a game we should have that was there for winning
im seething

jack cant start v the swiss - we wont see a lot of the ball tomrrow and with their physically imposing players in the middle and the excellent Schaar bearing down on top of him its too much of a risk
best case tomorrow is 0-0

Good post. Senior team is depressing at the moment. Can’t wait for Kenny to take over. Last 10 years have been utter dirge.

Spock is a fraud

Doherty’s casual effort and lazy tracking of runs were far more to do with his attitude than playing out of position. His effort was really poor.

The over praising of the u21s by some is a bit embarrassing.
Some good players and trying to keep the ball is a positive but you’d swear it’s the rebirth of the Dutch team of the 70s and we will saunter to the next World Cup

Pressure on Kenny will be huge. Media turned on Kerr (popular appointment and from LOI stock) pretty quickly during his time

I watched Doherty really closely in those Nations League games last autumn and his attitude was appalling.

Of course it was all O’Neills fault

You get the impression watching him, he thinks he’s better than he is

We will either get pumped 3 nil tomorrow night or put in a great effort and take another point.
