I’ve called Doherty for what he is from the very beginning here
Dockerty is shit though.
The game will be shit . The clock making cunts will score on 70 minutes and we get a scratchy equalizer after 88 minutes .
The the last game will probably be the same
Asked about comments by former Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel on Saturday to the effect that the Swiss needn’t worry about Ireland as they are “so bad,” Petkovic said that he had seen Ireland play in Denmark and “they weren’t all that bad at all”.
Aw shucks
I feel like Brian Carthy must feel when a visiting Scottish journalist tells him live on air that he thinks hurling is a great game
A draw at 3/1 is surely the bet here.
Bring on those fucking Toblerone eating cunts.
If you’d bet 50 quid on a draw in every match among the top four teams in Eire qualifying groups over the last three decades, you’d have comfortably paid off the mortgage on a house in Limerick by now
I fear we’ll lose 2-0 tonight and our qualification for a major tournament will come down to a winner takes all* crunch game at home to Denmark in November. Hopefully an early Shane Duffy goal from a set piece will settle our nerves. What could possibly go wrong from there?
*a draw would suffice for the Danes
I remember when we last had to beat Denmark in a winner-take-all-except-Denmark-could-also-draw-to-qualify game, I had a few quid on Shane Duffy to score first and Ireland to win 1-0 backed st 80/1. It was a fantastic few minutes
rocko - im willing to make that judgement when the man is played in his correct position,
TBH im not sure if tracking Georgian runners was much of a dealbreaker in this discussion as they were as harmless as anything Callum Robinson could produce - this game was there to be won and having one of our best attacking options playing on the wrong side in a defensive role with that utter simpleton maclean bearing down on top of him personifies the dysfunctionality of the organisation
We were born for those conditions
the wetter the better.
Keane was right about Mccarthy
If MONKEANO had made this decision there’d be fucking war, but hey, Mick jokes with the sycophantic journo wankers so, everythings grand.
Honestly I think it’s a big step up from LOI to a huge crunch European Championship qualifier away to the number 11 team in the world, when he’s never even played a competitive international game before. It could all be a bit much too soon for him.
He’s played Champions league football at youth level for Man City. He scored 6 goals in 8 games in that competition. he went and had a really good loan spell in Holland, scored a few goals in the eredevisie. Technically he’s far superior to anything else in our squad. He went out on loan to a few clogging teams and it never really worked out for him.
He has the most natural ability of any Irish player currently playing football. If you are a goal down and need creativity, he’s surely the first one you’d turn to on the bench.
