He has a better delivery than the other midfielders but I think the pace of a real close tight game like this will be like nothing he’s played in before. There will be no space on the pitch at all probably. A nasty game like this in the trenches with that shit pitch I think you want your veterans who understand what’s required. A lot of folk here seem to think the ROI manager should play champagne football . The last two managers and Mick seem to think pragmatic approach is best . We do not have enough players with the quality .

I don’t think anyone is advocating champagne football here mate.
A lot of people would like to see players who actually have the ability to play football. You can play defensive football and try and keep the ball when you have it, it’s actually more beneficial for a defensive team to have the ball.
Now if you think professional footballers are incapable of putting a sequence of 10-15 passes together, then that’s a different story
My point is that 3 managers who all have decent cvs are taking a pragmatic option . They might know a bit more than the lad with the Sky subscription in Kildare who or Johnny Ward .
