Two neutral countries about to partake in some trench warfare like conditions.
2 jump out at me anyway - 3 with Whelan but he wont be dropped.
The Swiss took in all the Nazi gold ---- they make shite chocolate and their cheese is manky too. They’ve given the world nothing of value except the greatest tennis player of all time, who’s a drip … fuck em.
We’ll bate em a point a man.
He has a better delivery than the other midfielders but I think the pace of a real close tight game like this will be like nothing he’s played in before. There will be no space on the pitch at all probably. A nasty game like this in the trenches with that shit pitch I think you want your veterans who understand what’s required. That’s just my personal feeling.
to start with… if it goes arse over tit and you look onto the bench and it’s more of the same, what then… he’s definitely worth a go in the 23… Mick has no defence here… stupid decision
At least Byrne shows for the ball… That kinda stuff makes a difference in football believe it or not.
go way out of it… midfielders who actually want to take the ball in and use it… what kind of wizardry is that.
Mick why isn’t Jack Byrne in the 23?
Oye up, I’m cheeky Mick McCarfy, look at my eye brow, I’ll strip for you if you one of your phones has a stripper ring tone. What was your question again?
I can’t remember Mick, I’m just going to post on social media now about how tremendously fun you are
Next question, and 'urry up woncha
Any reports from last nights Captains Run?
they had a few steiners of beer, a hape of chicken wings and had a sing song in the lobby of the hotel
What did 'Arry Arter do to upset Mick?
he pulled out of a few squads didn’t he?
A draw isn’t really much good to us is it? Don’t get Mick’s thinking about that one. Switzerland still have Georgia to come I suppose
No in practical terms it isn’t. But I’d imagine Mick sees our path to victory is keeping them scoreless and us nicking a goal at some point.
Yes it is because it means Denmark will qualify by beating Gibraltar at home and likely won’t give a bollix coming here
A lot of folk here seem to think the ROI manager should play champagne football . The last two managers and Mick seem to think pragmatic approach is best . We do not have enough players with the quality .
Tonight we will be hard to beat and will create a chance or 2 . Also we will be a real threat from set pieces
A lot of folk in the Irish media seem to think the same
God yes . That too .
I don’t think anyone is advocating champagne football here mate.
A lot of people would like to see players who actually have the ability to play football. You can play defensive football and try and keep the ball when you have it, it’s actually more beneficial for a defensive team to have the ball.
Now if you think professional footballers are incapable of putting a sequence of 10-15 passes together, then that’s a different story
My point is that 3 managers who all have decent cvs are taking a pragmatic option . They might know a bit more than the lad with the Sky subscription in Kildare who or Johnny Ward .
