Socks Dunne would surely get on an All-Ireland A team never mind Ulster. A glaring omission from @Il Bomber Destro.

Socks Dunne was sitting on his club’s bench this season.

What can I say. He’s literally the benchmark for other inter-county forwards at the moment.

Great to see you’ve had to a Road to Damascus moment on the merits of provincial teams. Here’s what you had to say on the Railway Cup on 17 December when we were discussing Sean Armstrong’s retirement and his scoring exploits in the 2014 Railway Cup final.

Incidentally the last time an Ulster XV took the field was in that 2014 Railway Cup final against Connacht. In light of their 2-19 to 1-7 reversal to Connacht, they might have trouble at the moment in fulfilling your boast, if they had to take on the rest of Ireland.

The Railway Cup is a mickey mouse tournament.

What would your rest of Ireland A, B and C teams be?

John Galvin calls it quits.
Kikdare’s Mick Foley too, think he won an All Star.

Mick Foley is young enough I thought? 31 or so?

just goes to show the pressure on these guys mate, working regular jobs yet train and act like professional sports men eh, too hard to do in the long term so I think you will see a lot of players retiring early now mate. They can train like professionals but they cant rest & recouperate like professionals so its harder on the body eh mate. Still though, he gave his all when he played for Kildare and fans of Kildare CLG cant ask any more than that can they mate? eh?

if this conitnues do where there is a high drop off rate and it becomes a young mans game will we see professional players down the line mate? eh? what do you think mate? eh?

Eh?

Satire aside, you are bang on.

Good luck to Galvin, should have had at least one all star, would have been on any team in the country over his career.

Was it john galvins aul lad that was caught going after the hoors in Limerick a few years back
