Retiring GAA Stars tribute thread - May cause brain/neck damage

One of the best shot stoppers to play the game …kickouts were from a different generation though , they were left hanging there for Willie Joe or Liam Mchale to catch .

Surely he has been involved in more AI finals than anyone as a player/sub without a winners medal to show for it.

Yes but goalies don’t count

Dropping him for Henneally in the replay that time is possibly the most ludicrous personnel decision ever made in the history of the GAA.

Wouldnt have mattered and the reasoning behind it was sound.

Just as he finally had a good kicking display in a final.

Graham Reilly of Meath. A beauty to watch in full flow.

Brian Kelly, Kerry All Ireland winning keeper

Brian Kelly of Kerry gone also. Like Nash he also brought around a rule change. He famously had a kickout vs Mayo in 17 that resulted in a 45.

I thought that rule was changed to stop Cluxton?

Give him less space to play it into when taking it from the 21 as opposed the the 14?

A fair trampish act

It was in a way, but Kelly fuck acting that day really put into motion.

That a dark day for Kerry.

Tactical masterclass from Rochford that day. AOS bet Donaghy up a stick. Donaghy got a red for swinging out near the end.

Who gave the hit?

Reilly seemed to be a player that had it all but didn’t apply himself properly. He was fatter than Paul Kerrigan FFS.

If he had been in a county with a proper set up he would have been a great player I’d suspect.
