There doesn’t some to be a whole lot of warmth towards Cody from a lot of his former players. Respect, no doubt, having won what he has won but not much of a personal connection.
Doesn’t exactly sound like an environment conducive to success.
Looking from the outside it doesn’t seem a particularly happy camp. Honest lads like Fennelly and Holden stepping away when they still have something to offer sounds alarm bells.
It’s Cody so nobody will ever challenge him but the lack of a puck out strategy years later - bar booming it long - is fairly damning. Any other manager would have reasonable questions asked of him.
Cody is a strange one because despite the bad man management and bad tactics I still think he’s getting a lot out of a limited squad, albeit Leinster is weak
The standard of Leinster is fairly abysmal and has been for a while.
Offaly at their lowest ebb in decades.
Galway in steady decline since 2017.
Wexford held back by a lunatic for 5 years, one good season in 5 championship campaigns.
Dublin still flattering to deceive.
Kilkenny in decline since that great team broke up. They aren’t all conquering at underage anymore either.
RH and Cody never hit it off, from the start. RH is too independent minded for him.
JH and Cody is a much funnier one, because JH just trains away, diligently and honestly. No one can understand why JH could not make the backs in 2019 and 2020 – in 2021, even. But Cody has a notably ignorant side.
