“Carey leading the charge of the light brigade” is up there with Jimmy McGee’s “different class”

“A goal! A goal! A goal for Offaly”

That’s a very nice statement by Kev Mc. Not too long, self-indulgent or self-congratulatory but generous and self-deprecating instead. His own voice shines through the text, as opposed to the banal platitudes delivered by countless others. You can tell that he practices gratitude several times per week (cc @peddlerscross).

Jimmy who?

I’m a bit confused by the reference to fans having Dublin’s back wherever they went around the country.

It oozes humility.

He’s some singer too. Plays Devitt’s on Camden Street most Sunday nights.

Steady lad.

Finisher mate, not substitute

A real Ole about him alright, coming on against tiring legs.

Dublin’s Maxi-million Robespierre.

He broke Kerry mentally.

He used have Aidan O’Mahony absolutely terrified.

I knew there was a goal in it!!

If McManamon didn’t score that goal against Kerry in 2011……

Ok they probably would have still won all subsequent All Irelands.

A legend though undoubtedly - all the best to him.

FitzMaurice used to have fresh subs lined up to mark him when he came on. Didn’t make any difference

All these cumulative losses will really hurt Dublin.

Can see them winning only 4 or 5 of the next seven All-Irelands.

“A high, lobbing, dropping ball…”

A great sub, a poor starter.
