RTE really need to bring back Off The Rails with Paul as presenter.
Did you see him hurl?
I imagine most people who are in any way interested in GAA saw him hurl a water bottle at Joe Kernan during the Kerry-Armagh match in 2006.
At least he got a slap at that Toal cunt into the bargain.
I would have thought it was pretty obvious even to an average enough internet warrior like you Bandage that I was summarising the thoughts of the board on this thread regarding Paul Galvin. Jog on.
Fuck off, you bluffing idiot.
Fuck off back to your hand egg chasing final you no mark cunt.
I will do, you gammy eyed paper selling cunt.
I will do, you gammy eyed paper selling cunt.

what year did he turn a game v Cork in PUC Kev? Kerry were pretty fucked till he came off the bench mid way through the 1st half?
jez he used really draw the cork supporters ire! It got to a stage where if the ball came near him, cork supporters used to launch into a chorus of boo’s and all sorts of foul language! He really got under yere skin Kev
Ya he certainly did. You know the reason though don’t you?
:D:D dubs always get dragged into it when your about… Galvin’s greatest strength was actually his ability to win breaking ball…‘dirty ball’ as some would call it…
Ah MDM was as good an example as I could come up with, even his most ardent supporter would agree he can barely kick the ball out of his way! Donaghy is up there too mind you, how he got POTY that year over Darragh is still beyond any right thinking individual, but he could at least kick the ball on the run.
Dirty ball was part of his game, but a very underrated element was his link play and by extension, his excellent footpassing, as referenced by @Bandage earlier.
Just out of curiousity I looked back over the previous FOTY’s, safe to say the two boys stand out in this list

Why does everyone give Michael Dara McAuley a tough time?
The determination in his play to burst through two Kerry playeras to knock the ball on for McManamon for goal in the All Ireland semi final year was one of the best moments of the Championship for me.

I’m on record here in praising MDM many times Farmer, he’s got a great attitude, comes across as a very decent and affable man, but if you try and tell me he’s a good footpasser, kicker, off either foot, then you’re on drugs. He’s a superb athlete, great engine, determination, a future Dublin captain no doubt, but that doesn’t make him a great footballer.
McMenaminininin was steeped MDM has the attitude he has, because he was sitting on his heels waiting for a soft ball, and had left his man idle to pick up a break that could have proven very dangerous had MDM not burst his bollocks to put that on a plate for him.
Galvin was great footballer to watch. Didn’t score a whole pile but was definitely the launchpad for a majority of Kerry scores.
Galvin won an U21B All-Ireland Hurling title with Kerry
I seem to remember reading an interview with him that it was due to be played after (strangely) the 98 All-Ireland Hurling semi in Croker.
That game of course was the infamous Offaly-Clare game that was blown up early by Cooney.
The BIFFOs went about their sit down protest then which meant the U21B final was called off and postponed to the following week. Galvin and the Kerry lads were thankful for it being called off as apparently a large crew of them had been on the sauce the night before!

Thank you for all the nice messages and words over last few days. I haven’t gotten round to reading them yet. Thanks to members of the media who have been so generous also. I have done two radio interviews of out politeness for people and I hope this will suffice for print media also. I won’t be doing any further interviews as there is no need to. More than enough has been said and written over the years
