Apology accepted.
Not at all. The deep lying half back line started cos of Corks short puck out, passing game when Tommy and JJ were just becoming stars.
Not sure about that, the 2 wing men’s peaks were a good bit after Barry.
Delaney was hoty in 03
nonsense. I’d say the amount of championship games the three of the would have played in the same half backline you could count on one hand. They lost the one A/I final that they played in as a unit
Richie Mullally was wing back beside Barry for the vast majority of his time at 6 from 01 to 04
Fair play. He was still better after though.
Cork only started properly concentrating on the short game around the time of the 2004 Munster final, no?
Walsh was only starting out as a wing-half back at that stage having played as a forward in 2003.
At their peak that Gardiner/Curran/O’hAilpin half back line was was like a brick wall too to be fair. Hate to say it as those two wing backs were impossible to like with all the bollocks they created with the strikes.

The point trying to be made was the possession game was invented to counter act Tommy and JJ, which is bollix. They only became really dominant from 06, when in fact they had dismantled that type of game Cork had perfected.
The only game that rattled KK was an inexplicably fast game mixed with similar physicality. Tipp are the only lads to bring that since 06.

Galway in 2012.
barry was class but was very slow and had a big open swing that got blocked more times than the apprentice boys march…wasn’t it him blocked down for Jacob’s late winner in leinster semi final THAT time?
he mixed his sublime skill with some of the darks arts, like all of the greatest defenders.
I’d hope so considering he actually ran the local supermarket in cahirciveen…
What positions did he win the All-Stars in? Corner back, wing back, midfield and half forward?
A fairly decent spread.
Corner forward in his first year too I think

Is there a picture of the time Gizzy Lyng left Tommy for dead only for Tommy to catapult a hurl at Gizzys legs from 10 yard away?
You have that wrong, Tommy was falling and just wound on gizzy just below his knees as gizzy was running on.
Broke the hurl across his legs. A perfect example of the most clear cut blatant red card offence you could come across that wasn’t even blown for a free that Kilkenny in their pomp regularly got away with it.
