Retiring GAA Stars tribute thread - May cause brain/neck damage

Good point, well argued.

It seems like Kerry have won a lot of soft All Irelands.

In the 2002 All Ireland final with Kerry, Stevie McDonnell was the joint top scorer from play with 0-03 including the winning score.
In the 2003 All Ireland final against Tyrone, McDonnell was the joint top scorer from play with 0-02
In the 2005 All Ireland semi-final against Tyrone, McDonnell was the top scorer from play with 1-03
In the 2006 All Ireland quarter final against Kerry, McDonnell was the top scorer from play with 1-05

Big game, big player.

its funny how desperate the gahliban are to have heroes

in a normal professional sport the gooch would be seen as a show pony and a bottler, always failing against tough teams but because he had a swagger* people make him into a great

in reality he was a fud

Funny that Armagh lost 3 of the 4 matches you mentioned above. Big game, loser.

Nothing to do with McDonnell though, more to do with Kerry and Tyrone having players who could come off the bench and make an impact. Tyrone brought Stevie O’Neill on in 03 and he kicked two points from play in the final. Kerry brought Darran O’Sullivan on in 06 and he scored a goal. Tyrone were able to keep Canavan in reserve in 05.

how many games did the much loved Tipp forward Matty Browne win?
How many games did the much loved wicklow forward declan forde win mate?

in bogball you are stuck with the players from your county as there is no transfer system*

*there actually is

Christ, some people are very precious about protecting the myth about Gooch. Brolly got railroaded for saying it a few years ago but nobody could pick holes in what he argued. Martin McHugh got the same done this year when he expressed that he thought O’Donoghue was a better player.

Gormley was a decent player but a totally and utterly unsporting, sneaky hateful wanker on the pitch. Got destroyed a fair few times towards the end of his career too. Against dublin in croke park when Connolly ran riot a few years back for one.

Gormley was class that day.

+1

imagine larsson never did it in europe are against the huns, he wouldnt be a Celtic legend yet gooch could only do it against the diddy teams and he is seen as a great

the gahliban, ashamed by nothing ,offended by everything

he was motm in that game gola

They both won loads of games buddy.

Good points, well made.

He was laughably poor. He should have packed it in after that one.

Gormley marked Bernard Brogan at corner back in 2011
Gormley marked Alan Brogan at centre back in 2010

Which of these games did Connolly destroy him in?

I’m afraid your ulster ethnocentricity in relation to Gaelic Games casts a long shadow on your musings about our native games.

bogball isnt a native game mate, its just a hybrid of rugby league and scotch

Sorry Alan Brogan it was both years at centre forward.

Glenfiddich or Johnnie Walker?

Justy McMahon marked Connolly in the game you are referring to.
