They both won loads of games buddy.

Name some of these games, please, mate.
Matty Browne or Declan Forde?
We aren’t discussing Manchester City here, Kev.
Stevie McDonnell was always a man who performed under the highest pressure and intensity, in fact it brought the best football out in him.
Gooch struggled when the going got tough.
2002 - flopped against Armagh in the second half.
2003 - minimal impact in the semi-final against Tyrone.
2004 - soft All Ireland against Mayo
2005 - well marshalled by Tyrone
2006 - even when they beat Armagh, Gooch did not have much influence - it was all about Donaghy. Soft All Ireland in the final against Mayo again.
2007 - soft All Ireland against Cork
2008 - kept well under wraps against Tyrone in the final
2009 - soft All Ireland against Cork
2010 - minimal impact against a reasonable Down side
2011 - good game against Dublin but when the going got tough near the end he wasn’t to be seen
2012 - completely snuffed out against Donegal
2013 - good year in a new CHF role
2014 - injured
how come Armagh couldn’t win a few more of all these soft all Irelands that were there for the taking? Surely a team with the many great forwards you so admire should have got over the line to win more than one all Ireland? even players on that team are asking these questions - McNulty was saying the other week them lads should have a bag of All Ireland senior medals. sounds a bit like if me auntie has balls she d be me uncle
they dont get a bye into the qtr final like kerry
the hulabuloo over McHugh’s comments was embarrassing. I had words with Kerry comrades over it. I don’t think he even meant to say exactly what he said and the context in which he said it was completely lost. Having said that the Gooch knockers haven’t much to work off really.
With superforwards like McDonnell, Marsden, McConville and Clarke so highly rated by Il Bomber I d have though they could have won Ulster without breaking a sweat.
Tyrone won 3 coming from the same province. Donegal made 2 finals and won one
As for Kerry’s bye to the QF, at this stage its no more of a bye that the Dubs have or Mayo.
Gormley marked Bernard Brogan at corner back in 2011
Gormley marked Alan Brogan at centre back in 2010
Which of these games did Connolly destroy him in?
The game was memorable for Connollys performance. Never said Gormley was marking him if you read back on my post. I just remember gormley being particularly poor as I really despised him at the time.

Tyrone had superforwards like McGuigan, Mulligan, O’Neill and Canavan.
Derry had superforwards like the Bradleys and Muldoon
Donegal had superforwards like Toye, McFadden, Devenney and Sweeney
Monaghan had superforwards like Finlay and Freeman
Down had superforwards like Coulter, Hughes and McComiskey
One of your greatest players has acknowledged that they’d have found it much more difficult coming from Ulster every year.
You said Connolly destroyed him, he didn’t and Gormley was probably Tyrone’s best player that day as usual.

Cat got the Cooperphiles tongues?
I might be a bit late to the party with this, but,
IS BOMBER JUST ONE OF SIDS OTHER Characters?
There is just way too much idiotic tag teaming of late for it not to be some sort of alliance.

it might have been a bit tougher but sure Kerry came through back doors to win all Irelands in more recent times playing teams from every province but still finished up in the shake up most times.
some of them super forwards you mention were good but not super. heck a few of them were nearly more into the soccer
well played sir
i) McDonnell was as good a finisher as there was in the game.
ii) He didn’t turn onto his right, he received the ball over his right shoulder and the angle was set up for him to take it on his right without having to break stride.
iii) If he’d turned onto his left, he’d have made the angle harder for himself, and such was the speed of Gormley’s anticipation he would have been able to block it anyway.
totally disagree…intercounty players would actually practice those type of scenarios week in week out…the importance of getting your body in between the oncoming player and the ball is key…it means he will generally have to go through you to get to it …mcdonnell could easily have went to his left and gormley probably wud have either had to jump on him or trust his keeper…
like donaghy said after this year Gooch passes the ball to the net…he’s a genius in that regard. .that goal he got against dubs in 2011 final was ridiculous…he made it look so easy…

eh, one of your stalwart of recent years failed at youth level in the championship

If Kerry had a path to the All Ireland like 2012 on a frequent basis, do you think they’d have won as many All Irelands as they did? They have a major trump card, don’t downplay its effect or importance.
