Interesting. Its getting rave reviews. I dont think we would be the target demographic for either book or play
Agreed, thought there is a decent story to tell and the second half about the impact the incident had on the victim and her family was interesting. But the lead has the most artificial and annoying Cork accent ever conceived which was extremely annoying and the first half of it was like something written about an American high school football but then loosely transfered to Ireland which made a lot of the premise seem very staged.
Oh no he didn’t… Oh yes he did
Chrisht
saw this last week with the kids
enjoyable enough
Went to see Trad at the Pavillion Theatre in dun laoghaire yesterday. It was brilliant. A savage portrayal of roooral Oireland. Very funny, even for city folk but apparently it has been playing to standing ovations around the country of late.
A big shout to ex forumite @nemesis who was fucking brilliant. On tonight in DL and then other places around the country.
Lads this is in Limerick this weekend in the limetree. You’ll fucking love it. Cc @ciarancareyshurlingarmy @Julio_Geordio @TreatyStones* @Raylan @dodgy_keeper
Only on Saturday night I see and no more dates after that
It’s too late for me to pull any strings on that front.
Went to see ‘the fall of the second republic’ in the Abbey tonight. I absolutely loved it. A slow first fifteen minutes turns into raucous comedy as Michael West tears apart the history of Irish politics. Anyone with even a passing interest in politics would Love it. Fantastic one liners and some superbly farcical scenes which strike very true. Go see it if you can.
What were the seating arrangements on the night?
You put your arse on it. That was it. Theatre wasn’t nearly full though.
I would strongly recommend Book of Mormon which is arriving this Dec to Bord Gais. Written by the guys who did South Park and very very funny.
I saw this last week. I had a preference for Dublin by Lamplight from the same team but this was still excellent. Very funny. 9/10.
I loved Dublin by Lamplight but felt it was slightly uneven. Hilarious first half and way more serious second half. This is their last show by the way. Company is folding.
That’s a shame. Their stuff is excellent.
Fine Gael new funding model for arts council last few years. Many good companies going to the wall. Funding has moved to individual project funding.
In Dublin for the night. Was headed for Einaudi at Bird Gais but cancelled. Then last night we booked a McDonagh play in the Gaity now that’s canceled too. Is this one still going ahead?
Any indoor event over a hundred people supposed to shut down. You’ll have to go to something shit
I’d say it’ll be cancelled
