Rory McIlroy

If Spieth is done then what is McIlpube?

A dirty orange bastard.

Spieth is done because his swing was never going to hold up and he is on a downward trajectory. He hasn’t won a tournament since 2017, Rory won three last year including the Players and the Tour Championship. Where is Spieth this weekend for the biggest prize money of the year? At home.

Spieth has won three majors since McIlroy last won one and is 3/4 years younger.

Majors are the ones that matter at the end of the day. You don’t see Federer, Djokovic and Nadal breaking their bollocks for an ATP 500.

There is no Comparison between golf and tennis. It’s beyond bizarre you keep comparing them.

Golf isn’t tennis, and making the comparison is frankly moronic. Players peak from 28-32 in Tennis and most have a relatively short playing career at the top. Golfers are competitive from 20 to 45, and peak from 25 to 40. Unlike tennis, non major tournaments are huge, the Players and in particular the Fed Ex Cup.

Spieth is done, he may well never win another tournament, let alone a major. That’s coming from someone who plays the sport for a living, as I wouldn’t be that qualified to comment as to what’s wrong with his game. Rory is #4 in the world and was #2 last year, Spieth is #69 and was #44 last year, that tells you the level they are at currently.

Tennis is an actual sport.

McIlroy is a busted flush who couldn’t hack it in when the competition got tough. He is the Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick of golf.

There is no comparison between tennis and golf. Bar one or two events it’s not a match play sport. Your argument is making no sense.

The FedEx cup is the biggest test by far in golf, and he won that last year.

Saying Spieth is done at 27 and him having won 3 majors since McIlroy last won one and conversely saying a 31 year old 6 years without a major is an utterly insane argument that a 5 year old would even put holes in.

A pity nobody gives a shit about it.

It’s a bit like the Masters finals in tennis. It’s an end of year event that nobody really cares about all that much.

If you understood anything about the game, you would see the logic in it. Why do you think Spieth is ranked #69 in the world and falling like a stone since 2017? It isn’t a form thing when it lasts over three years, his swing is fundamentally flawed which cannot be fixed at this stage.

You’re just embarrassing yourself now. The FedEx standings are based on the entire season, only 125 qualify and that’s whittled down to 30 over three tournaments.

It’s also worth ten million to the winner.

I don’t think world rankings matter that much. Sure didn’t a lad outside the top 300 in the world win a major a few years back.

It’s a bit like the way the Swiss are ranked in the top 10 in football the past few years but make little impact at major tournaments.

Only 19, wow!

The Masters Finals Champion gets the biggest payday in tennis but it’s still regarded way below any of the 4 slams.

$15 million. You could add all the 4 majors and the two tournaments to get into the Tour Championship and you are still not at $10 million. It’s ridiculous money.

A pity he can’t do it at the majors anymore.

So is golf a superior or inferior game for the fact that the competitions are fairly open and can be won by an underdog? It’s hard to keep up
