It fits in in @maroonandwhite’s mind. Loves a cut off the dubs despite living here and suckling at the teat. He hates himself for it. It’d be better for him in the long run if he learnt to be a good Uncle Tommo culchie like @Bandage.
Its watching the underclass suckling that does my head in. A pain being here alright but if us culchies weren’t keeping things moving the place would fall apart. Can’t rely on anto and deano for much.
What did Dublin have to do with this? As far as i can see the security were British and the bank is Belgium or something, where does Dublin fit in?
I know one of the lads involved in the little skirmish with the security guards…he’s a Dub!
3rd navan road brigade?
No. They sent up sandwiches from the 51
Would he have been involved in Water Protest aka tormenting Sierra workers?
Possibly, has ‘protected’ a lot of homes/occupants from evictions. Left SF years ago, hates them.
Butty chap with glasses?
No.
Mass evictions during the famine… There was an initial 1400 given a choice of the side of the road or assisted emigration to Canada I think it was… Then there was another bunch who resisted to the death… Beat up lads serving notices, resisted the police and bailiffs, loads of mini battles… Big court case etc. etc. … They’ve a tradition of fighting evictions, so they do.

This is why I dont think the vigilante group were necessarily defending your man, who clearly acted the cunt - but the threat of eviction runs deep in this part of the world and the boys were sending out a message - not on our watch… I dont have to tell rural poster here how deep historical memory runs in the country side. And the pain of the famine still lives in many rural areas. Great to see a bit of community policing all the same.
Why didn’t he pay his taxes?
He is a bad egg.
Little sympathy for them. Happy enough to see the loyalists getting a hiding too but if they defaulted their obligations and cheated the tax payer then they can have little to complain about.
A retired Garda getting Mobs to carry out his dirty work. It really paints new light on the shit Maurice McCabe was dealing with in that region.
Funny enough to see the lads who would usually be tut tutting at the Provos now trying to defend organised violence when they have to deal with a few loyalists exercising court writs.
A great irony.
