Tony Ward is awful on provincial and international rugby matters. He’s superb for the more important schools rugby scene though.
I hope that’s not true about Con Murphy leaving RTE. A first class sports broadcaster.

Con’s already left. His goodbye on MNS the other night was rather emotional.
Why is he leaving? He’s only 46.

Con will be missed from RTE, a good football man. Always came across as a decent fella too.

At the last world cup i was listening to radio New Zealand commentary of one of Ireland’s matches. You could hear Corcoran roaring from the next commentary box. Clown.

I was shocked today to find out that Jim Fahy has retired as the Western Correspondent for RTE news. I am gone too long :o
Yeah, I was discussing this with an RTE insider a couple of months ago. A very sad day.
With Jim’s retirement, the roving Philip Bromwell is my new favourite correspondent. He had a great oul report on a load of hens that were needing to be homed in Wexford there a few weeks ago. It was marvelous.
Jim Fahy was old school. A bit like the McSweeney lad who used to cover Cork. A real changing of the guard at RTE with these grizzled veterans leaving. Not to mention Charlie Bird. :lol:
Gerry Ryan’s daughter and the bird who played one of Biddy and Miley’s daughters have their leg in the RTE door now and will be there until retirement.
I was chased by Jim many years ago for a comment in relation to a west of Ireland business failure.

Is that Mileys and Biddys daughter who presents that show around the Simpsons and Home and Away? Thought she looked familiar.
I’m pretty sure Miley and Biddy were fictional characters,Farmer, and never actually had a baby, but I could be wrong.
