This is always worth a listen

I have no idea what Q nouns are. Good for you for reading up on them.

Your only chatter is to keep fighting and for more death. That’s the chatter of a hate filled lunatic.

If you’re denying the US is not driving war here then we probably shouldn’t interact on this thread any further as you clearly have no idea what’s actually happening.

Ok mate. I still doubt that you believe anything you post on this subject but you could try and be more entertaining at least.

I’ve not said anything that’s extreme?
Putin is a cunt, the US are up to their bollix in it, i cant see the war ending anytime soon so we should try save lives.
That’s about the height of it.

The obvious question is what are acceptable peace terms for Ukraine and the implications of that for other vulnerable states.
Only surrender is likely to be acceptable for Putin, is that right?

Xi arriving in Moscow today. America immediately dismissing the idea of a ceasefire.

I’ll give you a clue alright mate - there is no peace with a meglomaniac in charge of Russia and with Russian armies stationed in the Donbas and Crimea primed to reinvade and bomb the shit out of Ukraine whenever Putin so pleases.

A war they “can’t win” - bollocks.

That’s really more of a bombastic moralising slogan though.
Can you say anything coherent?

The desperation in this lunatic’s eyes

It won’t be easy or straight forward. It beats war tho.

Ukraine want a complete Russian withdrawal all the way to Crimea.

Russia want a new European security deal and agreement that Nato won’t come to its doorstep.

Which one do you think is more achievable?

For Ukraine to achieve its goal it will need trillions upon trillions of dollars worth of equipment… All added to it’s already huge debt. This equipment will come in dribs and drabs and will take months to get personnel trained up on. The last round of equipment they got has more or less been spent already and they’ve lost a lot of life in that period including most of the lads they had trained up.

Russia have got around the western sanctions that the experts thought would cripple them. They are selling record levels of oil and their economy is gonna see growth this year. The only people who have suffered are the poorer people in the EU.
The EU is now resorting to buying gas from another tyrant yet we’re being lead to believe the west and Ukraine are winning?

Putin pulled back for winter, consolidated and let Ukraine spunk their new toys. Ukraine has rolling blackouts and their infrastructure is in bits.
The question remains how quickly and to what calibre of weapons Russia can re arm for spring but he has the man power, the money and most of all the resolve to drag this on for years.

Ultimately, it won’t be any kind of victory at all if he does win but his aim is still to have a European security deal and to have nato banished from his doorstep rather than complete military victory snd control of Ukraine. I’m not sure that was ever his goal.

I think Russia can achieve it’s goal much easier than Ukraine can. If Ukraine does achieve its goal it will have suffered catastrophic losses and destruction and I cant see it happening in the next 2 years at least.

I don’t think anybody on TFK wants war,
But there are clear wider implications to a Ukrainian surrender and temporary peace through appeasement brokered by the west.

Everybody wants peace, but you’d want some guarantees

“Let’s have some peace. Those Allies are only warmongers.”

Someone should tell max that zelensky also is open to discussing the Chinese plan.

I’m not saying it has to be a surrender or all on Russia’s terms. Tho Ukraine agreeing to not join NATO would be a huge step. I don’t know how you resolve crimea and the east , but maybe a trilateral agreement going forward? Ukraine will have to make sacrifices if they want peace, it’s that or years of war and unlike other European wars, America and Britain won’t be intervening to save the day. So bar weapons they are pretty much on their own.

My feeling (I’ll admit I’m not following as closely as others) is that they’re too far gone now, Putin will only accept what amounts to surrender

And any agreements made are at the whim of what I think is a madman who will have seen the rest of the world cave once, the similarities to 1938 are too obvious to ignore.

It seems like you’d have to actively try to be ignorant of the situation for this to be your take on it.

What news do you actually read? Serious question.

Which part do you think is false? The aim of Ukraine? The cost to fulfill it?
Do you think they’ll expel Russia completely as far as Crimea? Will they be allowed?

The 20/30 leopard tanks due to arrive in May should make it interesting. Putin knows they are coming for months now si it’ll be interesting to see what they have planned. 20/30 isn’t a lot tho and while Russia is low in munitions and armour… NATO is running low too. This is why i think it can drag on for a long time yet and if Putin avoids a complete disaster time suits him more.
