It simply must be Tiger. A playing captain is needed.
Sky commentary team mentioning references that Victor Dubuisson has made to an unhappy childhood in a broken home. They reckon this last week as part of Captain McGinley’s team might be the first time he’s ever been part of a family type environment.
This is a dreadful speech by McGinley. Embarrassing stuff after Captain Watson’s dignified, humble and eloquent words.
Zinger might need to be brought back. He softened their cough in 2008. Time to go all military on their asses again.
Should the US break with tradition and appoint a foreigner as captain? Perhaps fresh thinking is needed?
Paul McGinley would be a great choice.
What about going with a non-golfing captain and giving George Walker the job? George Herbert was a regular at these events but he is 90 now so can possibly be excused for not making it to Scotland this time.
Michael Jordan could be the man, with Dennis Rodman as vice-captain.

Mickelson tore into the hapless Tom Watson in his presser this evening. Big Phil shot -5 today, yet that dinosaur Watson left him on the sidelines yesterday, how he must be wishing Paul McGinley was his captain.
Bandage and Sidwell have been totally humiliated in this thread.
Post reported
Phil Mickelson had some cut off Watson earlier in the USA team press conference.
Michelson has played on 10 Ryder Cup teams and been on the losing side on 8, so there’s a good argument to be made that he is the common factor why the US has lacked winning mentality for most of the past 20 years. While popular with the (mostly) morons that follow the sport, Phil is intensely disliked by most fellow players because of his oversize ego and big mouth. Watson should have told him to fuck right off, but is too much of a gentleman.
mcginley receiving a lot of praise from his players…there’s a horrible bitter wexican who can add humble to the many pies he’ll work his way through tonight…
As long as “KPMG” is emblazoned across Big Phil’s visor then he’ll retain my unequivocal support.
What a disgusting outburst. Phil is the ultimate family values role model.
+1. Phil’s nursing of Amy back to good health and the emotional scenes between them when he subsequently won at Augusta was one of the most heartwarming moments in the history of golf.
There’s room for everyone’s opinion here, pal. But I would urge posters to act respectfully in the best traditions of (the game of) golf.
In contrast to Darren Clarke’s behaviour.
