One of my old pals has just had a heart attack. Peter pan sort of a lad- never married, superb business man, fond of the beer etc, but kept himself in very good nick. In other news his 'girlfriend ’ has just been diagnosed with some form of blood cancer

Ah well. Probably no point, sure what could anyone say that would convey the sheer vastness of the horror ahead
I had my lunch there, the day of my first Holy Communion. We went into the castle then and played in the playground. What a day.

We called into Cahir Castle on the way to Oola for my first Holy Communion.
What was the attraction with castles on communion day back in the 60s?
Cahir Castle was a regular feature on my Da’s circuit of Sunday drives.
We didn’t have bouncy castles
