When did Scotland do this against Ireland?
Going with the nembo/mbb reply endlessly then announce youāve won approach. Youāre occasionally capable of better. Run along now.
Ah youāve him bet hands down here @carryharry. Just the same tired response from the goldhelpus chapeen.
A facile victory, but a victory nonetheless. I hope it puts a pep in your step today.
Cop on ffs. You made a rather foolish statement and are digging your heels in.
If Scotlandās expansive game was so good well there end result at the tournament didnāt show any better than Irelandās.
World Rankings also placed Ireland much further ahead.
Donāt do that, mate - if the standard of your efforts here this week is anything to go by, youāll probably end up decapitating yourself with a chainsaw or drowning.
It wonāt. Iām rather vexed by it and saddened a bit too by the whole sorry fiasco.
You done your best, but the goldhelpus lacked the backbone to admit the error. You could do no more than to administer the knockout blow and go on about your business.
Ireland have won 15 of 19 conpetitive games against the mighty jocks since the turn of the millennium.
Are you counting the game in the 2015 RWC when Scotland showed up Irelands turgid style?
Contrast: Ireland, high expectations, best squad ever, blah blah blah. Played shit boring uninspiring rugby and were made to look shit by a team they were expected to beat. Underachieved. Scotland: also rans coming into the tournament, played thrilling positive rugby, achieved beyond expectations. Certainly Scotland can be more pleased with their level of performance than Ireland.
The story of that tournament was that teams that played positive attacking rugby, eg Scotland, Argentina, and Japan, lit up the tournament and did better than expected. Turgid conservative teams of limited ambition like Ireland, England, France, did worse than expected.
Waffle.
You are basing all the above nonsense on a disliking of Schmidt.
Ireland definitely underperformed and did not match up to expectations. But apparently a team going out & throwing it around with shit results previously are doing something right.
Irelandās boring conservative approach in style and selection was exposed at the World Cup. Schmidt got it badly wrong.
By comparison, teams that played with ambition overachieved.
Stick your head in the sand if you prefer.
I think I missed it
Scotland lost 34-16 to South Africa in the group stages and scrapped into the quarter final courtesy of a 3 point win over an already eliminated Samoa.
Ireland won their group winning all four games. It was such a shame we had to play Argentina with such a weakened team - Jonny Sexton, Paul OāConnell, Peter OāMahony and Sean OāBrien all absent. A full or close to full strength Ireland would have made it to the final of that tournament.
@Fagan_ODowd raised a very good point about the age profile of the Ireland squad and it has been ignored ā Are Ireland living day to day or planning for a world cup?
Scotland beat Japan who were playing 2nd game in a few days having just beat SA, theay beat USA and scrapes past Samoa. They were beaten well by a rubbish SA side.
They overperformed in defeat against Australia. How often have the Scots performed great but still lost. Plenty.
Big fan of the Scots style of play but back up the fucking truck a bit about how good they were at last RWC. They were distinctly average
TBF losing to that Scotland side is something anyone would try blank out. Fair play to the godhelpus for remembering for all of us.
Did Ireland and Scotland not both come joint 8th in the 8 team tournament? Both were flops
Give it a rest - Bringing it up 10 times is enough.
