So, who's striking today? Which Side are You On

I already posted the figures.

The PTO makes minor losses.

It is the commercial service which doesn’t pay for itself. To the point where the company is on the edge of insolvency.

Do any of the quoted companies provide PTO ?
Please answer this.

10% of routes are.

The private operators want these routes.

Why wouldn’t they? If BE with their bloated pay and inflexible company practices can make minor losses, they will make hay with proper working practices and management.

https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.irishtimes.com/business/financial-services/private-bus-operators-seek-all-subsidised-routes-to-be-put-out-to-tender-1.2998434%3Fmode%3Damp

They can cherry pick routes. But let’s forget about them cherry picking the profitable routes.
Because a company decides to pay x amount, everyone in the industry must follow ?

And just to point out these rules;

CTTC national director Kevin Traynor maintained that the European Commission had mandated full liberalisation of the Irish bus market by 2019. He said the Government had to date opened just 10 per cent of public service obligation (PSO) routes to open competitive tender.

Bus Eireann as it stands cannot continue. Once these routes are all out to tender the company will make more losses as they won’t shift staff. They are going to way of the dodo.

They want access to all routes, read the article.

We already said no one wants PSO routes cut and BE are doing these at a minor loss.

We are talking about the Expressway part of the company. The commercial arm. Not PSO.

Tim is destroying the TFK pretend socialists.

What about it? Private operators take it too you know.

Tim is fighting for access to routes. He still hasn’t answered my initial question about who sets the remuneration rate for a professional driver.

“Sets the rates for a professional driver”. The whiff of union blowhard off you is overwhelming - you can practically smell the beard

He still hasn’t answered that though. He’ll trot out the IBEC line about private vs public ( sigh) but still can’t proffer a good and valid reason for long serving and loyal staff to have their contracts attacked in a disgusting manner.

They do in their holes want the Ballyfuck to Glencunt route 7 days a week.
They’ll posture about it alright and then leave you and yours sitting on your hole without a link to civilisation if it doesn’t pay.
Not the case with our comrades in BE though, they’ll run a service to serve you and yours, i.e. a service. Not a capitalist venture.

They do. Over 90 operators.

Why should a long serving semi state worker be treated better than a long serving private sector worker?

Maybe the public service/semi state sector will now finally realise the difference between a pay cut and losing ones job.

Yes they would- as the subvention pays well.

BE make a small loss on it, they will make a fortune with proper work practices and pay.

Saw a number of students today having to thumb a lift out the Dublin road.

Still wearing the gear from the Student race day yesterday.

It’s the most vulnerable that are suffering.

They use far cheaper buses on those routes. Increased insurance claims and depreciation on their new fleet cost an extra 7m in 2015 over 2014 but it suits management to go after wages instead.

Geez don’t say that. It’s a public vs private dispute. It’s those big bad public service workers that are at fault again.
Let’s all work for the minimum wage and keep all sectors of society down where they belong. This fucking shit all started with the working time act back last century. Them bastard lower class beings wanted paid time off ! ! PAID TIME OFF !!! We have to cut this stuff off. Next thing thing they’ll want their own cars and education and all.
Time to keep these lads down.
