Efficiencies within the company and increased govt subventions. We either want a viable commercial company or a govt run transport scheme. Decide which direction and go do it.
At the moment they’re providing a loss making service out is staff pockets.
Ok, increased govt subvention means tax payers should stump up. I think there are far more worthy causes than a company that has an average wage of over 50k per annum. In fact the high wage rates for relatively unskilled workers could possibly be the reason it is in such financial strife. While government subventions have decreased, revenues have increased to offset this. It appears that employees want a slice of the increased revenue pie while ignoring the fact these revenues are wiped by increased costs. Irish Rail will never be commercially viable so some govt funding is required but it should be for the benefit of the user not the employee.
I can’t believe the union and Irish rail are discussing this on the radio. They should be down the labour court not fighting on the radio.
Cunts the lot of them
I think the unions rejected labour relation recommendations. They’re so far apart they believe it’s a waste of time trying to negotiate.
They want a pay increase for the next three years in a row, with no conditions attached, from a company losing money hand over fist. They want these pay increases just because they haven’t gotten any lately and others have. The fact that they are very well paid already doesn’t seem to register with them at all.
How the fuck could you negotiatie with them.
That said the cunts in management refusing to negotiate are also on obscene amounts of money so it’s hard to take their side either
Traffic was very heavy there.
I wonder if this is actually true.
I mean it wouldn’t be the best idea to show too much of a healthy position for the likes of Irish Rail for exactly this purpose.
I would love to see the audit file in relation to their last set of financial statements.
They’ve had pay increases, just called increments and the cunts weren’t subject to FEMPI or the pension levy either
well thats a lie
From what I remember Revenue (including subsidies) was about 180m, salaries would be in and around that amount. Revenues have increased but subsidies have dropped. The unions want the subsidies to be reinstated to old levels so they can get their paws on it.
Evidence?
people on the top of they payscale didnt get increments
What’s the top of the payscale for a train driver?
hopefully a lot
Well clearly they did get increments, or they wouldn’t be at the top of the payscale
43716 at bottom, 55238 at top of scale
id want more than that for driving a train
The trains drive themselves, mate.
And I want my hair back but that’s not happening either
